I wonder how easy this is to use. Would it be possible to save these layers for later use?

I would think this could be done somehow in pbem/demogames*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

I mean if you draw something now, but decides to wait a few turns to use it. Seeing those lines while playing can be quite annoying, so it would be nice if you can hide what you have drawn, so you can easily show it later without having to redraw the lines...This space is empty... or is it?

Maybe it's also one of the feature that require a graphic card good enough."We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."

If that's a layer and you can turn on/off borders and whatnot, it would certainly allow for nice screenshots if you like to do After Action Reports. Or in succession games and other MP games. Plus to remember that unit XXX was supposed to go someplace.
Very nice feature in my opinion.Clash of Civilization team member

As enthusiastic as I am about being able to draw lines on the map and even place signs as reminders of what I want to do, I have to admit that I can't for the life of me figure out how to do either. There is no mention of either function in the manual or civilopedia, and I haven't succeeded by just pressing random keys. So, if someone who does know how to do these things could give me a hand, I'd surely appreciate it.The Electronic Hobbit

Never mind. I figured it out. They sure didn't go out of their way to make it obvious, though.
For those who don't know how to do these things, click on the globe icon to bring the world view. The icons on the minimap will all change, and one of them will be to draw lines, place signs, and erase them. The Electronic Hobbit

I didn't see anyone post how to get to it... I asked in Chat the other night...
Scroll all the way out to the globe view.... far left button is the 'Strategy Layer'
click it and 4 simple commands pop up in a little menu.
Yes it works in SP - And the lines are visable even after you zoom back into the working view at ground level.
