Very true. Especially if you know you are going to be away from your computer for a while (like a week or so), you can draw a strategy up that you can consult when you next get to play, saving you time to remember what in the Hell you were planning on doing .
How unrealistic. Everyone knows that when a player returns to a saved game, he must completely re-evaluate his entire strategy and pull all of his forces back to redeploy them elsewhere.
Hang on, though, didn't they have 'Battle Plans' in SMAC, or am I mistaken?? If so, then how do we know for certain that this feature CAN'T work in SP games? Plus, Soren has made a mention of 'Battle Plans' in terms of Diplomacy, so don't be suprised if this is not the last we hear on this issue ! What we do know, though, is that all MP features are available in SP games, so thats a bonus.

You are not mistaken - allied AI could be asked to direct his forces to a certain city. You could also name landmarks.

So, there you go then. I would not be at all suprised if you can do that in Civ4 then-do an allied invasion of someones territory, in a co-ordinated fashion.
As I said, Soren indicated that, for his recent radio interview, he had wanted to address things like-among other things-battle plans, but didn't get a chance. To me, that sounds VERY hopeful indeed.

I agree with you and Alva. Another opportunity will be to send a save to a friend (or to a forum, think Apolyton University) and explain it with easy.
Sometime my firstborn Luca (age 9) play a game of Civ and ask my help to improve his situation in some point of the game. He usually is always in the middle of some battle and when I'm looking at the map during late night session he's sleeping and can't explain his target on the battlefield. Oh well, not so many player here are fathers that can share this case, I suppose.

It seems to me you get the same colour of your flag... (but that screenshot is only an hint).
