A test program for checking if your specs are ok for a game

If you have a portable with integrated video, that would explain alot.

How can I check again what DirectX version I have?
Though AFAIK I have version 9.

I indeed have DirectX 9. I don't have Transform & Lighting though, so what wgabrie says seems to be wrong:

graphics card help~

so ive been trying to figure out whether my 32 MB graphics card will run Civ4 for the last week. i went to the test website and i passed the minimum requirements but now i hear that the requirements there are not up to date. so then i installed the aoe3 trial. it said i failed the min requirements for that but when i installed it and turned the settings way down the game ran just fine. so should i go for it and buy Civ 4?
