      • from the news
The official release date of Civilization IV`s German version has been set by publisher Take-Two Interactive (TTI). While TTI's website is listing November of this year, fellow CivIV fansite civilized.de is indicating the specific date as being November 4th.

CivIV will be one of the titles marketed under TTI`s subsidiary 2K Games label. The German version's suggested retail price is 49.95€.

          • Good news.

Even though €50 is a pretty high price for a PC game, I am sure, it will be well worth it.

            • Sir Ralph, pretty much every newly released game is around 50€. This also hasn't changed for quite a while. I know I bought Gothic II for 50€ and back in the old days I saw a box of Civilization (II) for 700 ATS (= 50€)

Btw, do you officially put the euro sign at the front or the back?

              • Lucky bastards... In Norway, a typical PC game costs €64.(with current change value)

                  • Over here, usually the 'official' retail price is about €50, but in reality you can get it for €40-45, usually even cheaper through www.gcshop.nl 'cuz they're non-profit (e.g. they have Fable Lost Chapter for just €35 and FEAR for €36,50 -- Civ4 still isn't listed).

                        Shut up!
The only games that I've seen begin at a lower price, is Paradox's games, which usually can be bought for €51. And that's the minumum if you want a game when it's released... BTW, what's the price for newly released expansion packs then? Here's it's usually €38.

In front is the proper way, but most people are still used putting it behind like with the old currencies.

No, I'm not. Civ III was less expensive, and usually a TBS it's considered a "niche" game.
About 39 euro should be a fair price, IMHO, considering that a "milking cow" expansion is already on the way with "new civilization, new map, new units".
