Why do they have to tell us what language we should have? Why don't they have a language choice in the program?

That's because of your regional settings. Annoying, I know, hd the same thing with both MSN and WMP10 a while ago.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

The need to install patches is a good reason to buy the English version. IIRC, some patches for Civ3 (and/or expansion packs) were never translated into other languages. And sometimes, even when they were translated, the international versions came much later than the original patch, sometimes even months later.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Haven't ever seen that in French versions. No translation problem in nowadays' games. Cuirassé (ironclad) is under the letter C, and Civilopedia texts contain no major mistake.

The only problem with the French version is that I would have to wait until "they" decide to release it. And I just don't want to.

And off topic, by the way,

I dislike English language. I dislike its sonorities. It tastes like candy soup.

I don't know Dutch so I can't say. As for Danish, I think it's a beautiful language. I don't think Johannes Joergensen's poems are "baby" poetry.

But there I stop. I know this has nothing to do in this thread...

Haven't ever seen that in French versions.
I have seen them. When the entries have been ordered in a list either hard coded or a file that people didn't think needed reordering in addition to translating.

Even if there is a two week gap between the US and UK release, I will acquire it then and buy it later...

It isn't that hard to add ", eh" to the end of each sentence.

localized versions are crap. I stopped buying them after PTW
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.
