  • Hey you, non imperial residents !

    Dear non-United States residents friends,

Are you going to wait for civIV being released in your remote province ? Or are you going to buy it on Amazon on the first of November, even if it's not in your mother tongue ?

As far as I am concerned, me Frenchie, I can't wait...

    First to vote...
Living in Brazil, I can't wait. Anyway, the game is always in english here, only the manual is in Portuguese.
So, my vote is "I won't wait".
Just because I want to play Civ IV as soon as possible.
Firaxis, would you please make a downloadable version?

The last thing I want is a localised version. Not that there are many of them released. :relieved:

I still refuse to play translated games. The English version is the only way to go and well it's not like anyone would bother translating here. I am going to pick the game up as soon as I can, though. And stop thinking that it's November for release date.

I wait still it is available in shops in germany,
but as the english version will be the first to ship (at least this was the case with Civ 3, where you could buy the english version months before a german version version was available [which is the reason why Coldfever tried to make a mod which translates all the english text into german [and promptly got a cease and desist order from infogrames, as soon as he published the mod on his homepage ])
I will buy the english version instead of a localised one (well, after all I prefer the english versions, so I would buy it even if the localised version came at the same time into the shops as the english original )

And I'll pay extra bucks if it's fast.

This is a pointless poll(or at least for my part of the world). No games other than children's games are localized(and most of those games are made in Norway anyway, so they don't need that). We get the games pretty fast after you, some games even before you.

As Proteus, I'll wait until CIV will be available in shops in Italy, but as the english version usually is the first to ship (at least this was the case with others game), I'll probably try to buy it in english.

It's not a matter of playing the game early, is more a way to avoid bad localization (my italian Civ II messed up the civilopedia link in the translation process), late patch availability, and some misunderstanding about game terms posting at the forums.

In the meantime between the game being available in USA and here in Italy, I'll let my american friends at Poly playing lovely Guinea Pig for me (catching main bugs, reviewing the game, etc.)

I won't bend over backwards to get it as soon as possible.

If the English version sells in our stores as soon as it's released, like it was with Civ3, I will buy it.

                        Otherwise I can wait.

good of you to slip in a bit of offtopic into your post title. Why don't you stick that crap in the OT where it belongs?

Like Aro, I'm in Brazil... I'll wait for the game to arrive in stores here, which will happen just a few days after the north-american release. The last civ game that was translated into Portuguese was Civ2. Civ3 was in English and just the manual was translated.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Most obviously the game will be in the dutch shops around the same time as it's in the american shops. Of course no one in holland wants a dutch version of the game
