Do the time units in the scenerio start out as months, move to weeks, then days, then hours, then minutes, then units of "what am I going to wear"?

PS. Couldn't help myself."If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama

That and how long it takes to tie a braid, then yank on it.
¬_¬
Seriously though the story may have turned quite poo but he did build a seriously deep and believable world for the cack story to pan out in.
If you want both a deep, believable world AND a fantstic story then I know who I'd reccomend... *check my sig*
And of course none of that has any baring over how good this scenario\mod is going to be and I look forward to giving it a bash.

PS. The books are great I agree. (And the Wheel of Time started out great, but the last few books have been very lacking)."If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. I think the last few books (8,9 especially) dragged a lot the first time through, but the second time through it didn't bother me nearly as much. I think the stuff in 8 and 9 is just as interesting (to me at least) its just that the main plot kind of stalls (RJ just cannot stop opening up new plot threads!) and the timeline slows to a crawl (I think one chapter in book 9 happens the day before a chapter in book 8 and its not a flashback).
Regarding the three fold land and trollocs etc.
Well how exactly would the three fold land work in civ4? Its all desert and nomads, not to mention that the map is already very big to begin with. Perhaps after this gets done here will be a different scenario with the shadow/seanchen/aiel/borderlands/rands personal dominion/white tower and whatever else.Last edited by Becephalus; December 1, 2005, 12:35.

I would have thought that Aiel and perhaps even the Seanchan would be represented as barbarian tribes. Like what Dale is doing with the native american tribes in his Age of Discovery scenario. It would work very well for the Aiel, as they have their own land that borders what you have already made. A bit more difficult with the Seanchan unless you want to make the map very very wide in order to have the land across the ocean.
So let's see, there are what two or three passes through the mountains for the Aiel to come through. (Been a while since I read the books). You could make some nifty unit promotions for the Aiel-only units, to simulate how fierce they are in combat, and give them an inherent 25% penalty for attacking over water.
Actually, this now really has me thinking of a seperate scenario simulating the Aiel crossing the wall to sack Cairhein. Laman's Sin or whatever it was called...

Hey Becephalus, I chased you from the Gamespot (I think ) site and Im just going through my WoT books now to come up with ideas for Religions, Great People etc. I hope I can help in some way...I have NO idea about how to Mod etc though :P I guess Im mainly a "story/folklore historian" kinda person. Heres my ideas so far...
Great People: You can decide where they should go. Need any clarification on who they are, just ask.
Lews Therin Telamon, Latra Posae, Rand al’Thor, Logain Ablar, Mazrim Taim, Masema Dagar, Artur Hawkwing, Mabriam en Shareed, Raolin Darksbane, Caraighan Maconar, Rashima Kerenmosa, Moiraine Damodred, Lothair Mantelar, Cadsuane Melaidhrin, Aemon al Caar al Thorin, Katrine do Catalan a'Coralle....etc etc.
I could go on and on. Most of these are Aes Sedai or early Kings and Queens. You could possibly set them up as Leaders?
Religions
The Chosen (The Forsaken)
The 13 most powerful Aes Sedai swore eternal obedience to the Lord of the Dark for the promise of immortality.
Friends of the Dark
Those who follow the Dark One and believe they will gain great power and rewards when he is freed from his prison. Though they serve the Chosen, this doesnt mean that they present an undivided front.
Children of the Light (Whitecloaks)
A militaristic organisation of strict ascetic beliefs bent on the defeat of the Dark One and the destruction of all Darkfriends, which includes the Aes Sedai.
The Dragonsworn
Zealous followers of the Dragon Reborn, their one allegience is to the Dragon Reborn as they wait for Tarmon Gai'don.
Way of the Leaf
Inspired by the Travelling People or Tinkers, properly the “Tuatha’an”, the Way of the Leaf is a pacifist philosophy that teaches that there is no reason for violence.
The White Tower (Aes Sedai)
Formed to preserve knowledge from the Age of Legends, the White Tower is led by Aes Sedai. They teach that Tarmon Gai'don, or the Final Battle, depends on the White Tower's support of the Dragon Reborn.
Meh...I dont really know where this is going but yeah. Hope I can help

First off: awesome map.
But I'm afraid I'm an impatient person, so over the last few weeks I've been building on the map, turning it into a Scenario with preplaced cities, buildings, units, improvements, etc. It's very much unfinished, but it's playable. I'd really appreciate feedback on it, and I'd love to work with anyone else actively making a WoT mod.

Nice work, Horseman.
I think Tar Valon should start with like 4 spies, and that all 1-city civs should have a couple settlers..
There seems to be problems with civics without the enabling tech. For instance Illian starts with Free Market but after a few turns it reverts to Decentralization. Same for Tar Valon's Representation, etc.Last edited by Gherald; February 28, 2006, 20:14.

Spies are a good idea. Hopefully at some point it will be possible to implement Aes Sedai units which ignore borders.
Yeah, I've noticed that (I thought I might be able to get away with it, but apparently not). In the next version I upload I'll either give civs the techs they need or change the civics."There are two kinds of travel book: One is a guide for tourists, and the other is almost invariably written by Bill Bryson."

WOT-MOD
Just dowloaded your scenario Horseman. Will have a look at it. I posted some stuff on the WOT related Thread on CivfanaticsForum maybe you can utilize. Feedback and help on that subject would be appreciated. to contact me post in that Thread I frequent it quite often.
I downloaded your scenario and messed around with it a bit, although I haven't played a game yet. First off, I do like it. I'd been thinking of doing something like that but didn't have access to good enough maps. I do have a few suggestions. First off, why is Mansa Musa (Far Madding) at war...
Thanks for the Map Becephalus!
