    Installation Instructions
Delete "The Ancient Mediterranean" folder in your CIV4\Mods folder if you have installed TAM before! This ensures that your XMLs are up to date if we split old files into several new ones. Then double-click the installer and extract it into your main CIV4 folder. This will not overwrite any original CIV files.

    - Etruria removed from the scenario map
    - Illyrians under Teuta are now a playable civilization, with Lembi (bireme) and Kambsor (spearman) UUs
    - Civilopedia entries for units and religions have been added
    - Berserk skin + button, Opening Menu screen by Notarzt implemented
    - Tech Tree is reworked and organized: Fishing now leads to Boat Building.
    - Game begins in 5500 BC
-Copper Smithy (50 cost) gives Cavalry, Medium, and Heavy units built in that city a copper weapons promotion (+10% Strength)
-Bronze Smithy (60 cost) gives Cavalry, Medium, and Heavy units built in that city a bronze weapons promotion (+15% Strength)
-Iron Smithy (75 cost) gives Cavalry, Medium, and Heavy units built in that city an iron weapons promotion (+25% strength)
-Steel Smithy (100 cost) gives Cavalry, Medium, and Heavy units built in that city a steel weapons promotion (+40% strength)
--NOTE: These do not add up; Copper Smithy becomes available with Copper Working if you have the copper resource, but is made obsolete by Bronze Working. Building a Bronze Smithy then gives units the Bronze Weapons promotion until it is made obsolete by Iron Working. Same idea with Iron Working, which becomes obsolete with Steel.
    - Lydia leader's name changed to Kroisos from Krisos

    - Crop Rotation tech now adds 1 food to farms.
    - Colossus no longer obsolete with Astronomy.
    - Work Boats now require Boat Building.
    - Holy Book now gives the first player to research it a Great Prophet
    - Heavy Spearman has been modified for balance.
    - Iberia: 1 wheat, 1 copper, 1 crab, 1 pig removed to help balance.
    - 1 fish added on coast of Northern Greece.
    - There are now 2 hilly openings in the Italian Alps, and 1 in the northernmost mountain ranges as well.
    - Wheat on Babylonian Hill is fixed; plot made flat.
    - Lake Shkodra placed by Illyrian starting position (Skodra); mountains moved to appropriate position

Thank you for developing this mod for Civ 4

Thank you for your wonderful mod for Civ 3 i enjoyed it much

the thing that did bug me about your mod for civ 3 was the Lydian bonus the building that gave 5% interest on the treasury.

the thing that bugged me was that the 5% bonus was pretty much capped at being applicable to the first 1000 gold in the treasury for some reason. at aby given time assyrians, due to their research had a few times that treasury.

free 50 gold a turn is nothing to sneer at though.

    thanks much

    =============
to those that can not read. the stuff about the Lydians above the line applies to the Civ3 version of TAM.

    =================

P.S. the map above looks like it might have a bit more sand that is needed. if you delete some sand this might improve the performance

    about that

I liked how you used the terrain set from the Rhye's of Civilization

there is a speedier terrain set here too

I enjoyed TAM in CivIII. Good to see you're making one for CivIV, Thamis.

Dont forget that it will also require re-working the Civilizations if you change any of the very earliest techs since starting techs may be affected!

I realized this while working on my current mod and adding a tech BEFORE mysticism...

Could you post your proposed tech chart in XLS format or something...I'd be interested to see what you did.

The only reason to play Civ3 was this mod.

Thanks a lot thamis. Keep up your fantastic work....

Best way to launch the mod is to double-click the MOD file in your PublicMaps folder.

Or are you saying you can't download the mod?

I'm using the d/l link in the initial post to try to get v1.0, but I get a Not Found page.

Also, the version uploaded here at Apolyton is v.9

BTW, I was a big fan of the TAM mod for Civ III.
No such thing as overkill, just ensured victory!
