No I don't Ben. It's the one area they keep dinging me on on my yearly review.
Dang. You mean cops are people too?

no. people tend to get prosecuted when they strangle someone to death.

But when something does happen, fatal consequences and police lies are the norm.

I'm thinking the most recent ones. Even in Wilson's case I don't think he's being fully honest but the other party is dead, so what can you do?

For instance, I believe he felt threatened. I don't think it was a rational fear.

Uh, why? Brown tried to take his gun from him earlier. That would constitute a rational fear to me, having a thug go after my gun.

No Ben. In your case it would be a solution.

There's definitely something iffy about this :

When Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson left the scene of the fatal shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, the officer returned to the police station unescorted, washed blood off his hands and placed his recently fired pistol into an evidence bag himself.

Those actions, described in grand jury testimony, violated protocols for handling a crime scene and securing evidence, according to experts in policing procedures and Justice Department documents.

Wilson’s movements after the shooting were among a number of police actions in the aftermath of Brown’s death that experts said were unusual. The grand jury transcripts revealed, for example, that the officers who interviewed Wilson immediately after the shooting did not tape the conversations. The transcripts also showed that an investigator from the medical examiner’s office opted not to take measurements at the crime scene and arrived there believing that what happened between Brown and Wilson was “self-explanatory.’’

The physical evidence in the Michael Brown case supported the officer [updated with DNA evidence]

You and others will refuse to acknowledge this (likely with hand waving and conspiracy theories) because it doesn't support the narrative you have in your head but it bears repeating.

I think there's far too much assumption that those disappointed in the grand jury are looking for the officer's scalp. That's certainly not the case for me. It is the close, ongoing relationship of police and district attorneys that casts doubt on some of these outcomes. AFAIK, the function of the grand jury is not to adjudicate guilt. It is to determine whether a trial -- which is where guilt is rightly determined -- is warranted.

My narrative is cops by and large suck at their job, have irrational fear for their safety, feel emboldened to use lethal force at the drop of a hat and there are systems in place prevent a deeper look into that, by design.

Really though DD, has there ever been an instance of police being in the wrong in when it comes to dealing with black people, or has every instance ever been the fault of the suspect. I mean, honestly, I really believe you think cops have never done anything wrong.

The most recent examples of the police unjustifiably killing citizens I can think of are the Garner and Rice cases. I just don't think Brown was an unjustified shooting.
