The footage of the attack is pretty dull. Have a look at Sadat's assassination to see how it's properly done.

'I have engaged the opponent. He is now deceased.' Tweet from Vickers right after shooting.

I dislike the politics of our PM, however today he rejected the American style partisanship that he usually espouses.

Harper stood in the House and said, ""Thank you, colleagues.

"Mr. Speaker, I would like to begin today by recognizing and thanking the Leader of the Opposition and the Honourable Member for Papineau (Trudeau) for their kind remarks and words of encouragement yesterday evening.

"Mr. Speaker, in our system, in our country, we are opponents but we are never enemies.

"We are Canadians, one and all.

"We may be across the aisle from one another, but when faced with attacks on the country we all love and the things we all stand for, I know we will always stand together...

"Well, Honourable Members, as I said yesterday, Canadians will never be intimidated.

"We will be vigilant but we will not run scared.

"We will be prudent but we will not panic.

"And as for the business of government, well, here we are, in our seats, in our chamber in the very heart of our democracy and our work.

"Mr. Speaker, in all its diversity of peoples and opinions, this House personifies the spirit of Canada.

"Canada will never yield to terrorism and neither will this House of Commons.

      "We carry on..."

One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Yes, because the only 'partisanship', is Republican.

I went out to lunch to our usual spot with a couple of work buddies today, not realizing that the funeral procession for Cpl. Cirillo would be passing by the restaurant. So we stood there and watched, feeling kind of guilty for not having made the trip specifically for that. Both sides of Hunt Club road were packed. There seemed to be fire engines every 100 yards or so, lots of cops and RCMP on the sides too obviously. Hard to describe the feelings I had. A lot of sadness, mostly. Such a waste. So senseless. And absolute silence as the herse passed by. I could hear the squishing of the tires on the asphalt. Never experienced anything like this before.
            What?

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
