Me neither; that's why I dot-posted. It's been like that since The Troubles.

I had that problem with the Game of Thrones thread. Went away when a new page was reached.

The Preds showed up last night.![]()
And indeed there will be time To wonder, "Do I dare?" and, "Do I dare?". t s eliot

And apparently the Kings are pretty good.![]()

and/or Vancouver & St Louis arn't really that good.
I think it would be ironic if Vancouver wins the Presidents trophy and they were eliminated in the first round, Hitchcock wins the Adams award and St Louis is eliminated in the second round, Darryl Sutter gets fired from Calgary and wins the Stanley Cup with the Kings....not that I am cheering for Sutter or the Kings, but it would kinda be a kick in the teeth of Vancouver, St. Louis and Calgary....and I like that

The past is history. Tomorrow's a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present.

On paper, LA should be a Stanley Cup favorite, and indeed were picked by many to be a serious threat before the season started. A team with a Vezna quality goaltender, Norris calibre defenseman and 3-4 legitimate all star forwards shouldn't be a surprise to go far. What was surprising is just how wildly inconsistent they were during the regular season.

Well, right now they have to be the favourites to come out of the west, facing Nashville or Phoenix, would give LA the advantage. Which means that the cup is likely going to the east again this year.I think it would be ironic if Vancouver wins the Presidents trophy and they were eliminated in the first round, Hitchcock wins the Adams award and St Louis is eliminated in the second round, Darryl Sutter gets fired from Calgary and wins the Stanley Cup with the Kings....not that I am cheering for Sutter or the Kings, but it would kinda be a kick in the teeth of Vancouver, St. Louis and Calgary....and I like that

It's amazing what Sutter can do when he has talent to work with.

And the Kings sweep STL.

Six of us picked LA over STL; Garth still holds the lead, but it is down to a single point, with a handful of us nipping at his heels.
Only two people still have their Stanley Cup winners alive.

I could easily see me going 0-4 this round.
Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.

That is imminently possible, for never in my memory has an NHL playoff season been so clearly a game of luckpuck/hotgoalierodeo.

Maybe LA isn't that bad a team?

No, LA is not. Phoenix sure as **** is, though.

So Asher was wrong again? Gosh. Hard to believe. Facts >>> Asher.Asher must be confusing you with another "douche" from last year, who picked Vancouver to sweep every series.
Easy mistake to make.

Ah. Well, my bad. You were really close then, Ben.Clearly you thought LA was a great team. It's a shame none of us recognized it until you showed us the way.

Another bloodbath this round...

Caps are still in the game. One of my predictions may yet survive.

I believe three of us are in line for a bonus point Saturday night, whichever team wins.
The standings could see a huge shakeup; not sure when the West Finals will start, but smart money says Sunday afternoon, so be ready with your Conference Finals picks after the end of the Rangers-Caps game Saturday night.

AHEM
Facts -- Ben Kenobi etc etc-- sorry but you seemed to like lampooning Asher for a similar small error
If Washington wins game 7 I could go 3 for four in round 2-- I will still be pretty irrelevent in the overall though as I had a similar record to you in round one
