So, anyway, I got the late night Hella Peno double cheese burger with two types of cheese, halvies fries (half regular fries and half spiced curly fries), two tacos, and a bottomless soft drink for $5.99. If you go on a Tuesday then Jack has "taco Tuesdays" which means if you go to Jack's website they let you have a coupon for two free tacos. That's FOUR tacos, a jalepneo double cheese burger with two types of cheese, halvies fries, and all the soda you can drink for just $5.99. That's a hell of a deal especially since it is in "high priced" California where the minimum wage is $10 per hour ($2.75 per hour higher than the Fed minimum wage). So, it seems, costs are still low and companies find a way to still offer deals even if workers get paid better. Sure, companies don't like it as they'd rather give it as profits to shareholders but there are still plenty of fast food workers, service is still fast and efficient (because people would go to other places if it wasn't), yet the prices are still low.

Granted I did pay $3.49 for three egg rolls which seems rather high as a side order but over all it is still a bargain, one which other states match, despite California's higher wages for the lowest paid in our society.

While there are a myriad of problems with Jack-in-the-Box food ... I don't think they've yet sunk to including spam in the ingredients

I always liked their Ultimate Cheeseburger. I haven't had one in maybe 10 years though.

Et ceteris paribus and if only Jack in the Box (not their distributors) minimum wage workers got paid that extra $2.75/hr, it would only result in a price increase of 5.5-7.4% depending on their labor cost percentage. Many state/county sales taxes are less than that. It should not be surprising if in the short-term, fast food prices do not seem appreciably higher, especially for bargain/sale items. For example, many fast food companies offer dollar or value menus which they may operate on razor slim margins but, obviously, not all food items have the same associated food costs. There is considerable emphasis on 'up-selling' in fast food for higher profit margin premium items. The famous up-sell 'would you like fries with that?' is a great example of a very cheap, possibly as cheap as soda (another common up-sell), item sold at a relatively exorbitant price given its food cost.

So again, bargain items might remain as cheap as ever but some premium items will see an increase in costs. Your analysis is too simple.

Also, as Jack in the Box operates in other states and I do not know anything about their supply chain (but presumably, judging from MBM and Maines, two prominent food service distributors, Jack in the Box distributors are based elsewhere), Jack in the Box is likely not suffering from increases in food costs associated with higher wages on the supply and distribution side, those being based in other cheaper states.

That is not a critique of raising minimum wage, but simply pointing out the flaws in your overly simplistic analysis.
