    makes sense cause right the side u have to fire over your own men...while directly behind...u have to just divide the force into two, front and back and no cross fire. and targets aint smaller from the side..in fact its that old line up so i can skewed 10 of u at once deal

      When firing from the side shots that miss the original target are much more likely to hit another enemy target and weapons that can penetrate more than one target are likely to inflict multiple casualties. When firing from the rear a shot that missed the enemy would be likely to hit a friendly target as would penetrating shots. In naval combat firing from the side is called a rake and inflicts considerably more damage than a broadside shot.

        damnit! I've been overruled

        yin26 i agree, I've always in the past foolishly shot people in the back whenever possible in FPS like HL mods CS/DoD/FLF as they die easier or so I thought ( & more importantly dont shoot back ). Next time I'll shoot them from the side though!
