Patch is Up

Just run RON then connect to Gamespy from within RON. The game will auto-update. I think a direct-download version is also in the works. We'll update you when/where to get it. The patch makes improvements to the online experience.

that sux, although most of the people have it already....we are the minority (the people who dont have the game)

I suppose that's one way to look at it. Another would be that we're being responsive to known issues. We are, after all, serious about making sure we provide a quality game. The patch takes only a few moments to download so it's not a big deal really - I just posted so that folks who are aware of the online issues would know that we've taken steps to address them promptly.

Also, the patch will probably mainly be addressing mutliplayer issues, so it's not like people who do not have access to the internet will need/want it.

Can anyone "in the know" tell us exactly what the patch updates?

You may not have noticed, but patching on release is becoming the norm for many new games. But then I'd rather have a patch waiting for me to buy the game than buying a game and waiting weeks (or months) for the patch.

You know, just because YOU don't have the game yet doesn't mean others can't have it either. I have had the German version since last Friday. I didn't test the patch yet, so I don't know if it's international, though.

There seems to be an issue with some international versions. We're looking into it now.

Also, any non-retail version is also not going to be able to update.
