    Gilgamensch & all,

We may want to set up elections soon -- my thinking is that if we choose to elect a president & ministers (lets say in a week or two) then we can have the 'nit' decisions explored at that stage & move out.

Also, we'll need a de facto leader at some point to clarify the decisions made so we can move on where appropriate.

We've agreed to play with version 1.31

As I see it We've decided on a President & two Ministers for now with the option that a majority of the citizens can exercise power by setting up judicial powers if need be.

    So far, we have the game settings as;

    Mineral Rich
    Random events switched off
    Anti's on
    in a huge Galaxy.

(Still need the start -- Pre-Warp, Ave, Advanced?)

It looks like we've decided on a custom race with 14 points as the creative subbies, with six points yet to be allocated and 10 points of dis-ads (with a strong leaning towards repulsive so far) yet to be confirmed.

Can we use this tread for the confirmations of decisions rendered? Then we can set up separate posts for future decisions.

I am thinking of asking Michael or Mark to have 1 thread toped in which we can post the links to the important threads, including information and so on...........

And you fairly well understood the principle of a DG

We've decided on mineral rich,huge,8 players, impossible, no random events, tactical combat on, antarans on.

the government poll is a dead heat between dictatorship and unification, I voted for Feudal and would like to now switch that to unification, so that the race looks like uni/sub/creative/repulsive/-ship def/-gc

I voted Feudal as well but I like dictatorship better. For the sake of getting this game on the road, I'll swing with uni.

Looks real good to me -- the only game decsion left I can think of is which picture to look at (ie which race will NOT be against us) -- Any preference or left up to the Prez?

Of course for pictures to look at, maybe GenghisFarb can work his magic...

Silicoid,Sarka,Human,Darlock,Mssrhan, or Elerian will probably be the choice.

Silicoids and sarkas expand like a damned virus in a mineral rich huge galaxy.

If the humans get framed they can easily convince everyone to declare war on us(I really hate that where trading partners are getting 300bc/300rp a turn from me and they just drop that for war,but that doesn't look to be much of a concern.) Also if we pick human, their benefits are poor so we increase the odds of getting the bugs, meklar, etc as good slave workers.

The darlocks stealthyShips attribute will be quite annoying, the cats also pick that, and have the early attack attributes.

As for elerian, I bow to the eternal wisdom of Zaph Branigan "Now thats a wave of destruction that isn't hard on the eyes!". Plus they have the same deal as the humans, their boni aren't that great as captured workers.

The others will likely be peaceful traders, or good slave races like the bugs and meklar. The psilons in particular we can conquer tech that they got but we didnt, and they make great researchers, something our unification government will want a lot of.

Silicoids and sakkra are the best slave races, and it is easy to conquer them. It is true that they expand but the more they expand the more slaves we will have :-)
Against stupidity the very gods themselves contend in vain.

If someone can figure out how to get the pictures in the game I would be more than happy to make them. I would like to choose Darlock as our portrait and replace it though as they are the most irritating of opponents.

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I think we decided on a dictatorship for government, huge galaxy, prewarp technology, eight opponents, on Impossible. I'm not entirely sure but I believe we reached a consensus on using the Darlock picture for our custom race and now we're trying to narrow down the last few picks.
