My brave Troops have just conquered an Ithkul planet.
In the Specials List it says "Magnate Civ".
As I look into the Population Statistic it says "100% Ithkul".

My strategy in assimilating magnates is to send in a colony ship (outpost would work as well, but my viceroys don't build those ships), select the planet tab, filter for "within borders", and set migration to the planet. Within a few turns the planet and the magnate civ will be mine. To find the planet it really helps sorting after name so you'll know where to look.

2) Teraforming teraforms to perferences of major race of the planet also.
I've gotten into the habit of creating multiple colony ship designs, one for each race (EvonCol, DarlokCol, MeklarCol, Eler-Col, Silic-Col).
I then have to watch the AI's for each planet to make sure they're building the CORRECT colony ship for their planet (which is a royal pain in the rear), but at least I can ensure that when my Darlok world builds a colony ship on the same turn as my Evon homeworld, I don't get the two ships both named "Colony Ship" in my reserves confused and them them to the wrong planets.
This is an area where a patch would really help...Long-time poster on Apolyton and WePlayCiv

Now I´ve gotten into the same Problem.
Had conquered the Elerian Homeworld, which is a Paradise, from the Guardian.
Tried to colonize it.
I wondered why my first Colonyship didn´t create a Colony, so I sent a Second One.
Now I have a Colony which is inhabited by the Audrieh and the Imsaeis
Just have activated the "Migration-Switch" to make the Main Population Psilon. Seems to work, the First turn after I activated it had some hundred of Psilons appear on the World.
Just don´t want them to change my Paradise into a world more fit for Imsaeis or Audriehs.
I think I´ll mark my Colony Ships as obsolete, so the Computer AI doesn´t build them on its own anymore.
And yes, maybe I build different designs, for every Race one (which will be very much, as I have 2 sizes of Colony-Ships and I have a couple of Races within my Empire, let me see: the Darlok, Alkari, Audrieh, Rhea, Klackon, Imsaeis, Ithkul and the Sakkra).Last edited by Proteus_MST; March 7, 2003, 08:05.Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. Magnate races will slowly colonise new worlds on their own, but you can significantly increase the rate of this by building colony ships. The reason to do this is that you can colonise worlds that are red for your race but green for the magnate race. But the Rhea like very different worlds from the Audrieh who like very different worlds from the Meklar who you have conquered. So you are going to want to identify which race is on a colony ship so that you can send it to the appropriate type of planet. But the only way to tell is by using different names for colony ships and only building ‘RheaColony’ ships on planets that are dominated by the Rhea and ‘MeklarColony’ ships on Meklar worlds etc. This requires A LOT OF MICROMANAGEMENT! If that’s not your thing, don’t bother with this, just let those other races do the colonising on their own.·Circuit·Boi·wannabe·
