I never had any Civ3 oil problems. Sounds like he doesn't like the resources, so they are a "problem".

RoboSport?

I noticed the reviewer mentioned having played robosport! Never seen anybody else mention this cool game which is the first one I ever bothered to play hotseat (on the old mac). Was it also avaliable for the PC back in the day? It would rock to get a copy (though getting to run would be a challenge)>

This game is so huge it hurts, and yet it's so fun. After the initial glee, you will probably spend most of the first three or four games bogged down in information overload, begging for the days when things were simple, cursing the name of every QSI/IG employee you can think of (sorry Cory, Rantz, Const, et al. but it will happen) and wondering how exactly one commits hara kiri. And then it'll hit you, this massive chunk of information will suddenly make sense, and the drug that is Moo3 will have it's steely grip around your life. To give you an example: I've had this game for two weeks now, in that time I've had maybe one week's worth of sleep, consumed about a hundred cans of pop, a half dozen pots of coffee, a few meals less than I should have, and played Moo3 for about 40-50 hours. My hair's unkempt, I'm growing a beard and smell kinda funny, my wife feels neglected, my immune system is shot to ****, and my pets aren't being fed consistently. This game is 100% pure, grade A, video game crack, and I love it.

If I were ever in any doubt whether or not to buy this game, they are now put to shame

My friends and I wasted many hours in college in front of my old Mac playing Robosport. Heheheheh... a 40Mb hard drive, 8Mb of RAM and a 2400 baud modem... I was cookin'!

The review sounded very good though I would have liked to have heard the third point of view as well. At this point though, I don't want to read any more reviews... as Keyshaun Johnson might say, "Just give me the dam game."

wow, you were cooking! the ol' MAC plus would take quite awhile to process the turns (10-15 minutes on a big map)... we ususally watched movies/TV while playing.

Didn't bother to mention the review since I would just be parroting what others had said... but job well done! Moo3 looks/sounds like the game I hoped Moo2 would be!

Stuie, I think by "Civ III oil", the revs mean the overbalanced power "brought" by tanks for a civ at war against other(s) that doesn't have the resource, so sticked with units much less powerful ( cavalry and less ). The gap is effectively easily unbalanced in your favor if you discover oil many turns before your opponents, but way less than MoO2's creative pick or Alpha Centauri's copters and specialists.

The most freightening thing about this review that doesn't leave my mind ( and until I get the game ): "kissing my social life goodbye"....If I'm stucked to play MoO3 drugged with so much addictivity, I only pray then to NOT skip my supper during a "noon to midnight" session.... This is the kind of review making the can't wait into something more like an unbearable torture .

My only hope is I get the game before I find another job. This laid-off thing is not nearly as bad as advertised.
