I noticed these for a few other traits.
There are TWO traits relating to research.
One is the basic research ability, which has ratings of poor/average/good/superior

Secondly, there is a "creativity" rating. This is like: original/adaptive/imitative...dont remember all 4, but 4 categories

Creativity rating makes it so that you get less overruns in tech, and that when you do, you are more likely to get some good effect as a result. SO the psilons have Superior Research / Oriognal creativity, or best in both categories. I think 1 or 2 others may also have this. One of the aquatics I think does.

They modify it in DIFFERENT ways....
Also, they effect space combat too...toughness makes your ships tougher to kill, accuracy makes you shoot beam weapons better, reflexes make you respond better, shoot faster

Abilities such as subterranean (insects), aqquatic (ichtosians), tolerant (silicoids), flying (etherians), and probably a couple others should be in the game too....these are most likely race dependant and non customizable.

So while harvesters get the antaran background and tolerant special abilities, they're hated by people and can't do much in the way of the diplomacy.
Hm, this info was supposed to be 'classified', or not?

          Dan wrote in his preview:

Harvester information has been classified and carefully guarded by Quicksilver and Infogrames throughout MoO3's nearing two-and-half-year development. The publication restriction will be lifted only when the game first becomes commercially available.
          Am I wrong?
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

No, the fact that Harvesters will be hated and feared by every other species is part of what HAS been made public.

Well...first of all, you have to grow a huge beard, and then you have to become a Canadian citizen, neither of which I find very attractive So I'm not sure.........

So based on the current rumornet for release date, I guess we're going to see this multi-part "preview" stretched to fill the time between now and the alleged release? Counted on my calendar and even if North America gets day and date release with the German rumors, the preview would run until two weeks before that, at one a week. /me senses a deal was made.
                            ?

I started thinking about this a few days ago too. What a coincidence, eh? Oh well. Thems the way the chips fall I suppose.
