this is more about QS'.... unhappiness of this certain build being distributed in any way as a "demo".

but if you want to talk about laws, i'm pretty sure PCPP's cd comes with a disclaimer that what you get if for your personal use only. this "demo" is not freeware. it's given to PCCP under some conditions and PCPP has distributed on their cd under some conditions as well.

discussing the "demo" is one thing. discussing the distribution of the "demo" over the net is another.

Hu-ho! Newbie calling edit nazi to the co-owner of the site isn't good!

But the funny part is that Mark deleted pages 1 and 2, and moved page 3 to 1.

The agreement was that the magazine would not distribute on the net. There is nothing saying that the Buyers of the Mag can't.

Before you start deleting peoples messages concerning us MOO3 fans trying to find the pre-alpha build demo. You might want to have some facts to back you up.

This is a synopsis of what "Mark G" said this morning around 7am CST. I can't give you exact quotes because not only did he delete my messages, he also deleted his responses. I was expecting them still to be here when I got home from work. So I am going with the best of my memory. If I'm mistaken, (IMO, your fault for being delete happy) try correcting me "Mark G" instead of DELETING ME.

"MARK G" was saying that "I'm sure there is an agreement, (somewhere in the magazine, i havn't seen it, or been told this, but I"M SURE THERE IS), that says the poeple that buy the magazine can't give it to anyone else".

I'm just asking why he needs to delete our messages. When it's his opion vs. mine. Are you the DEMO Police? Are you American? Do you believe in free speach? Is my asking these questions going to get me banned?

                  Just asking.

                    1) as you can see your actual opinions on the matter have not been deleted
                    2) this is not simply my opinion against yours. you seem to ignore the fact that you are a guest on a site that i own. if i dont want something to exist on our forums, i can and will delete it. i may discuss about it openly, but i will delete it.
                    3) when you bring me a statement by QSI or IG that distributing this file on the net is ok, i will allow the discussion

GP, the basic story is that the Australian branch of Infogames gave the Aussie magazine PC Powerplay the alpha version of MOO 3 on the condition that the magazine put the 'demo' on its next cover CD.

However, it apears that this release was not approved by Infogames management in the US, who for understandable reasons aren't amused with what has happened.

Regarding my trolladdiction (seperate issue): I'm not perfect. Hopefully I can make people think every now and then...while having some clean fun.
