Paid $60 CAD (roughly $40 USD) when it first came out.

    Give it 2.5 / 5.

    No problems with installation.

muxec: Overall 2. I can't justify giving the game a passing grade given the slew of bugs, poor documentation, and appallingly bad post-release support.

Bought it on its release day for $40.

            Rate it a 0.

It has DEFINITELY affected my game buying habit and how much research I do before purchasing software. Dropped my expenditures on game software drastically.

No troubles installing the game other than now my computer feels "violated."

Where did you buy it for so little? Algoritam has it, but it is still over 15$.

                And my rating: 1. Crap.

Bought it on the day it was released (40 euros)

                      Backstory/ concept: 5

Gameplay pre-patch: 1.5 (AI offered NO challenge at all)

Gameplay post post-patch: 2.5 (many improvements, still some big flaws though)

Gameplay with fanmods: 3.5 (the only thing keeping this game alive is the tiny fanmod community. There are some great mods out there!)

Support: 2 (well, they released a patch, so that's the only thing saving them from getting a 1. Never heard a thing from Atari and QSI after that though. Simply abysmal.

Overall: 3 (thanks to the dedicated community). I still play the game and have a good time, but it could've been so much better!

MOO3 will be forever known as that game that had great potential but failed to live up to the hype. I hope Space Empires V will be better.

Playing friend's disk. Great game (after heavy mods/patching as recently as last week). Rating: 4/5

I received it just last Thursday. Got it off ebay for a total of, what, nine dollars? Something around there.

Of the two hours I've spent playing it, I can't STAND IT! The backstory was awesome, yes, but the interface is so counter-intuitive its hardly playable.

I'm gonna give it some more time, yeah, but as of right now I'd give it a two. It looks good, I just need to some how master the interface. And find some good mods and stuff...

OK, by the way the poll was closed i just forgot to ask MarkG... I guess that the results i got are irrelevant as many of those who thought that the game sucks did not visit this thread.

BTW according to reviews the interface of MOO3 comparing to X2:The threat us friendly.

                            MarkG, close this thread, please

I found a demo version (set to expire after 3 hours of play) on a download site. I paid nothing, played it, and was completely unimpressed at the execution.
