Oh, as long as I can swap out the download file as I go, no problem.

    I'll get to it tonight.

    Thanks!

I have no idea if that worked. I uploaded it and then tried to add a link, but it doesn't show up.

Perhaps there's an approval process that needs to occur.

I did it twice, so delete one if that's the case.

yes, all entries are first approved before being public

could you update your profile http://apolyton.net/forums/member.ph...on=editprofile
filling in the name, surname fields? this way an account with the same username will be created in the directory and will be shown in your file entry (and you will be able to submit updates to it)

New public version of the GCW, v.1.1.0, released.

This one adds Techs and SB Modules to the Writer.

You can download it the GCW home page:
                link

Or, find it in the Apolyton Files directory! I'm going to post it there right after this.

Lot's of interesting reading there. I'll definitely pick J Bytheway's brain for engineering issues when the time comes to build a mod-swapper.

My brains, and my source code, are available for picking whenever you wish.

If you have no Internet connection at home you can now download this nifty package onto two floppy discs at work or cafe, take discs home and load it up.

I just downloaded onto two discs today. I can try this out tonight.

I have posted v.1.2.3 on the home page.

This version has editing screens for every significant text file GalCiv uses.

If you ever wanted to make your own Anomalies, Events, Improvements, Invasion Tactics, Political Parties, SB Modules, Ships, Techs, UP Issues, or to edit English.str, this program can help you on your way.

I will be posting this version in the Apolyton Directory this weekend.

Terror Stars... I need to edit them... They're too nerfed... only one move, so slow, and only evil people should get them... Great tool though, I'm making a Star Wars mod with it

Gah! Dammit! I've looked everywhere! I've hacked the files to bits looking for a mere mention of "Terror Star" and all I can find are UP issues! Where could it be? I know they hid it somewhere, but I've scanned the whole thing and turned up empty. Man these guys really can't stand the thought of someone cheating, tweaking, or even modding their product can they?

Yes, the Terror Star speed is hard coded as 1. Quite annoying, I agree.

Oh, and I'm glad you are getting use of the Writer. Thanks for the kind words.

Ah well, screw the terror star, I guess the Empire doesn't really HAVE to have a good Death Star, at least I have the gliders finished. Any clue how to change a major race's avatar?
