I am a bit dissappointed about the space age. The only thing you are doing is fly on missions. You only have one ship (or fleet if you have allies) so you cannot defend your colonies and always have to get back to defend them. I don't seem to have time actually build up the colonies I created.

I just had the annoying situation that for three times in a row the same colony was attacked by pirates. I killed them, zoomed out to go back on missions and got immediately again the message the colony was under attack (and I did defeat the first pirates because I received the 'wow, you're a true hero' message). I dealt with that attack too just to encounter the same message again when leaving the planet.

My progress bar is a bit more then 50% filled but already I find it boring. I did like the other stages though...

Anyone has the same idea or am I a loner on this subject

I'm with you on this one. Space age is too boring IMHO, whenever I reach space age I just restart the game. All you do in space age is fend of pirates who has an unlimited supply of space ships
This space is empty... or is it?

What? You only get ONE spaceship? How in the world are you supposed to defend a budding empire, much less do all the missions?

I just got my first race to Civilized so I guess I'll find out if my Terror Monkeys rip the throats out of my neighbors and make it to the Space Age.

Your spaceship is much tougher than the spaceships of the enemies

Well, I didn't get further than the beginning, space phase is IMHO the most boring phase in the game

I got to the center of the galaxy (and made it back out to get home to my territory), though the Grox were pretty surly all the way.

                          Spoiler:
I heard there is a secret achievement titled "Oh, the Humanity!" that you get when you destroy Earth.

When I set for my first journey to find Earth, I was the other side of the galaxy and only had Intersteller drive 3. I wondered going through every black hole I could find until I was on the right arm (I'm a Shaman so getting lost isn't a problem.) I eventually found a wormhole which brought me to the base of arm. I got the badge needed for Intersteller drive 4 on the bought for the first civilization I found. When I got to the black hole, I had trouble finding it since I heard it was on the edge of your travel radius and my travel radius wasn't level 5 yet.

Space age is the only age with legs for me. It is decent but it's not Colonization!

As much as we loathe the idea of endless expansion packs, I hope the first one fills out the space stage.
