This one is a little better, I think there was a thread on it a while back.

We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

You're leaving off the "well" part because it's central to my point. Obviously there are plenty of people who can't play it well, but that says more about them than about the game.

Risk is not a bad strategy game because it's simple. It's a bad strategy game because the strategies necessary to play well are simple. Tactically there's very little important besides maximizing income while minimizing the length of your front.

Risk sucks, Chess sucks, Checkers sucks, Go sucks less, HoI sucks, HoI2 sucks, HoI3 will suck, and you all suck as well.

Don't know that game, but have you tried the Blitzkrieg games?:

I played the first one and it seemed ok , but i'm not a fan of rts so I didn't stay long with it.

Axis&Allies is a great game if you haven't played it, and the Harpoon games are also meant to be good(but old):

Naval battle simulators based on or inspired by Larry Bond's 1980 Harpoon tabletop wargame. Trivia Novelist and screenplay writer Tom Clancy is friends with Bond and gives him high praise for his...

But yeah you might be best with the HoI games.

Why am I not surprised Asher thinks "Chess sucks".

I don't play Risk for strategy. I play risk to argue with friends over who we should gang up on.

                A World Divided:
A&A Clone. Interesting if you turn on supply, partisans etc.

                Commander Europa at War:
Panzer General Graphics and the Worst AI I ever saw, never has Seelion been so easy
                Early Year is fun though.

                Blitzkrieg:
Rts w/o building Units. Better: Sudden Strike
                Worse: Africa Corps/ Panzers

                Making History:
Confusing Game which seems difficult until you discover that debt has no penalities whatsoever..
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!
