Play "The Netherscrolls" between SoU and HotU, it is the best bridging module. Goes from level 12-13 (where SoU ends) to about 16 (where HotU begins) and connects both story-wise.

After HotU, which goes to level 28 approximately, you can play the "Sands of Fate" trilogy (3 related modules), which takes you to 40.

"Darkness over Daggerford" is a wonderful module (level 8-13), which was planned as paid content and then dropped into public domain.

I think I'll start with excrucio eternum. It got good reviews and it doesn't need any hacks.
      You sir, have no taste.

I think SoU is my favourite of the NWN games.

Yes, but then, you are a munchkin/powergamer.

True, but I don't think this is a pre-requisite for enjoying a fine game.

I don't know, it felt generic, uninspired. I'll try harder and give it a chance this time around.

@ Standup. Excrucio eternum seems to be an interesting module. And it doesn't need any hacks.

There's also a French series called "Le bâtard de Kosigan", made by an historian. It doesn't take place in the lame D&D setting, it takes place in medieval France, with fantasy elements. Maybe there's a translation...

Thanks - I've downloaded it and will have a look.

My French is probably a bit rusty for game playing especially if there's too many colloquialisms. The French I learnt was very formal text book stuff probably no use at all for slaying orcs

Of the 3 campaign games, SoU is my favorite as well. Of the modules, Twilight, which is why I recommended it. It's such a well crafted game in both story and gameplay without all the glitz and glitter of hakpacks. Not that hakpacks are bad, but I found that some of the more popular mods seemed to only be popular because of their hakpacks only. The Adam Miller ones stand out the most for that. He used tons of hakpacks that really changed the way the game was played. But his writing and storytelling is atrocious.

there is an English conversion as well.

I like SoU, it's a great module. HotU is nice too, but it could be better, had it not been inflated with imba gear and cheap stacking improvements.

Think we've discussed this before - but I agree about the relative merits. HotU is technically a better game but it just doesn't feel right.

I meant the new character classes (some of which are great) and new spells (some of which are not absolutely awful), rather than the fact that it let you access the henchies' kit. Although there are packs to download that will let you do it, but to be honest, it's so easy that it's not really worth it.
