    You also.

Although if anyone would like to buy me an xbox 360, I'd be willing to buy Fable 2 on that instead of waiting for the PC version.

      Fun >>>> Precision

Anyday. I think this is why I don't play multiplayer that often. People think the point of a game is to WINWINWIN instead of having fun.

I find accuracy related challenges to be extremely fun.

I'm pretty sure i'm not alone on that one.

Since you're sinking so badly I'll offer up some support there: for competitive FPS gaming the PC is better because there is more scope for performance to increase due to skill and practice.

But console FPS games are perfectly fun nonetheless - Halo3/Cod4 in particular are great on the 360. And there are a lot of players who take their console FPS games seriously if you're into competition.

I think there are certainly different tastes in terms of gaming, and PC and Console gaming offer different experiences with different strengths.

This is not unlike the 360 vs Wii offering different experiences with different strengths... it's just a matter of what you like. I'm sure FB prefers accuracy, and plenty of people do - millions play FPSs on the PC. RTS, the same. However, there is also the console element here, and it's fun for some...

Fair enough. Zelda is a kid's game. I went NES > Sega > Xbox & GC > Wii & 360, while always playing PC games (civ after all...)

There aren't really that many PC games that control like Fable does. So it's hard to explain why it doesn't port very well. It's really just a game genre that handles best with a few dedicated buttons, like a game pad, in much the same way that an RTS is very clumsy without a mouse.

I played Fable on a friend's Xbox first, quite enjoyed.

Certainly enough to buy it for the PC but I did struggle with the controls. Enough so that I went back to the Xbox version. I'd hope this time that a bit more thought is given to the PC port or even that its a bit more than a port.

Did they prohibit the use of a gamepad on the PC version?? Most games i've owned that were console ports, and made more sense with a gamepad, permitted such use (such as Madden)...

Do you know it never occured to me to try a gamepad. I think I was put off by my experiences with W95/98 that I've never really thought of them as an option. Always imagined them to be a bit clunky on the PC.

Logitech makes a few if you prefer the PS-style gamepad; wired or wireless, both work very well (can't speak to the FPS play of wireless but for SP it is fine).

IIRC the Xbox and X360 gamepads can be played with a PC directly if you prefer that route (or if it's cheaper, ie free), but I have no experience with that.

The 360 gamepad works well with the PC - though you need a wireless receiver which costs around £10 if you want to use the standard wireless pads.

I found the pc controls for Fable somewhat annoying but manageable with customization.

I don't mean to demean Zelda, but it is a kid's game. I played the original back in kindergarten.

Just because it's a kid's game doesn't mean an adult can't enjoy it. I'm only saying it doesn't have the violence of GTA, or the insane complexity of Europa Universalis.

The point of that was that the controls for Zelda, and similar games, are designed with a gamepad in mind. Mouse and keyboard tend to be rather clumsy.

I think Zelda is more correctly described as having a wide appeal than as a kids game per se.
