I suppose, but Im more inclined to boldly skip to modern technology, like the PS2 or the Wii.
But first ive got to get me a swell new 2 generation old video card for the PC. But before I do THAT, Im gonna score me Civ4.

Get Civ4 already. The PS2 (or the original Xbox) is really cheap as well and there are some good games.
Im pretty sure thats my next gaming related purchase, maybe this weekend.
But I AM still playing Age of Sail:PB, its really good, and Id like to get back to RCT3 a bit. So no shortage of gameplay, but it would be nice to discuss Civ4 while its still the latest iteration of the series.

The plot emerges over the course of the game. As you complete missions, Niko shares more of his backstory and earlier comments take on more significance. I'm on my second play through now (he first one I played as a man of peace - the second I have resolved to take no crap from anyone, so any pedestrian who calls me a name gets whacked).
It's not like you have any choice in this game. Aside from one or two instances, you're forced into doing the same missions repeatedly.
So I wonder how exactly you were a 'man of peace.' Because you know, the game kind of makes you murder about 100 people as part of the story.
I'm pretty much done with this game, gamerscore of 510 ~75% finished. Another half hour would net me a couple more achievements, but I'm burned out on it right now, probably will revisit the game right before the dlc hits.
I will say that prior to GTAIV I was absolutely terrible at Forza 2, but now I can win (AI) races on the lowest level fairly consistently. Being forced to actually control my speed and braking in a game I enjoyed, in missions, has really translated to "real" driving games-games I didn't really have the patience before to learn. I wasn't regretting picking up F2 and PGR4 for $10 each, but now I can actually get enjoyment out of them.
Maybe I'll get around to those Crackdown races as well...
I'm going to wait till it comes down to £30 or so then get it. From reading the reviews and the descriptions of the game I don't see what all the fuss is about (greatest game evar! 98% on metacritic etc) but want to check it out just in case.
The game's very repetitive. It borders on insulting, in that there's no real meaningful plot. Things happen (e.g. murders, betrayals) but they aren't motivated by any overriding theme or purpose. It's just doing jobs for thugs who have no purpose other than to give you inane missions. Radio stations also suck, as does the three minute comedy routine by Gervais, OMFG FAT PEOPLE ARE FUNNY AND SO IS AIRPORT SECURITY NOW GIVE ME A HAMBURGER AND $6,000 FOR THIS VOICEOVER SESSION I MADE THE OFFICE AND AM FAT MARF GARF. It's so embarrassing this thing rated 10/10.

No it doesn't. You murder very few people. Shootouts with the cops and other gangsters tend to be self defence, since they'll shoot at you. That's a lot different from spending the whole game amusing yourself sticking a car bomb in a crowded gas station or walking into Burger Shot and plastering some *****'s brain all over the back wall.
I just cannot imagine how you can play this game twice. Basically nothing you do impacts the plot (there is no plot so this actually goes without saying), and all the missions are idiotic and repetitive. Go to X shoot Y and collect your moneys!! REVOLUTIONARY.
OMFG WEEZEL NEWS GET IT !!? IT'S MAKING FUN OF FOX NEWS OH THAT'S NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE! OH CONSERVATIVES IN SPACE JIZZ LAWL! ROCKSTAR SO CLEVER!!
This game is horrifyingly bad. I got tired of it even before I listened to the crap on the fake radio and the lame dialog from the fake girlfriends and fake friends on my fake cell phone.
The game is okay. I got my friends copy last weekend as a loaner and am 12% through the plot or total (not sure).
Some missions are a real pain to do (at this point), so I know that I won't be able to finish, never have finished any of the others.
I agree that the little side mission crud is a pain too. I saw enough of bowling, pool, and darts that I don't need to do them again.
I just finished the mission where you have to kill 6 "bikers" and was going to drive back to my house so I could save and turn it off. Well I get two calls on the way back and did not answer, which got me thumbs down with those two people.
Can't a gansta be tired and go to bed?
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
I never understood why nerds who play games like this have such a taste for mindless shooting and destruction. Talk about compensating for their small wangs.
