GT, you can have more than 50 points in any one line, that is:

    AA+BB+CC =<50
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

        Maybe an example would work:
Let's say I'm fighting Gramps in a Round Robin. My W/A combo is W9/A11, while Gramps has a W14/A6.

We assign our 100 pts. Let's say I pick:

        20-10-10
        0-20-0
        20-10-10

Whereas the 1st # is attack, the 2nd defense, and the 3rd power.

        And let's say GrandpaT picks:

        0-33-0
        25-0-15
        10-2-5

To these you and I add our weapon and armor values. These values are halved when applied to att/def, but are full value when applied to power. So I add +4.5pts to all attacks, +5.5pts. to all defends, and +9 power to when I hit, and subtract -11 power from anyone who hits me. Grandpa adds +7 to all attacks, +3 to defends, and +14/-6 to hits/ being hit.

So now our picks read, after modification:

        Theben:
        24.5-15.5-19
        4.5-25.5-9
        24.5-15.5-19

        Grandpa Troll:
        7-36-14
        32-3-29
        17-5-19

We would then compare my 1st line vs. his 1st line, 2nd vs 2nd, etc.

In the 1st line, we both miss b/c both of our attack strengths, modified, are lower than each other's modified defenses.

In the second, we both hit each other and then compare our power strength vs. the defender's armor. So Grandpa hit me with 29-11=18 points of damage, while I hit him for 9-6=3 points.

The last segment I hit Grandpa and he just barely hits me (17ATT vs. 15.5 DEF) so again we compare power-armor. I hit him for 19-6=13 damage, while he hits me for 19-11=8 damage.

So after the 1st Round, I'd have 100 hit points-18-8=74 hit points left, while he'd have 100-3-13=84 hp left. We repeat this one more time in the RR with these hp's, and whoever has the less hp's at the end of the 2nd round loses, while the winner gains 3 game points, 4 if he KO's his opponent. Double KO's and ties result in 1 game point each. Also note that if you're KO'ed in the 1st or 2nd segment of a round, the remaining segments aren't played (you can't fight when KOed).

        Does that help?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Right, cannot. Also, you don't want to send in orders until you know who you're fighting.

btw, While in the past an attack & defense that tied = 1/2 power hit, a .5 counted as a full hit. I was thinking that .5 should also count as a half hit. Any thoughts?

If you check the old threads, you'll note that Spikie is the master of sending orders late, regardless of the level of spam he incorporates in the meantime.

p.s.- Come on, Jamski, I know you're lurking, and that you want to bring your trusty katana and bamboo armor to the fray!!

He's played with W0 A20 before, so I wouldn't say for sure. But we could still end the signup and get the matchups posted.

That said I likely won't have access over the weekend. Maybe Sunday morning, Monday for certain.

The Doctor saunters over to the sign-up sheet. He knows he has nothing to prove, and that the golden age of gladiators is past.......

.......but he just can't resist the rush of battle, the cut and thrust of second-guessing, the chance to prove once again he is the finest swordsman of all time.

He adds his name, and unsheathes his legendary rapier wit. Passers-by gasp in amazement.
