Well... If they can't get the AI right, then the game won't sell... so at least it's comforting that it's being worked out.
Without believable character interaction models, then the whole conceit really falls flat.
This game, in my opinion, will do about as well as Sim Earth or Sim Life, or Impossible creatures- similar games- it might be ballyhooed, but it will sell a mediocre amount.
It may be a solid game, but games taht are too large are difficult for consumers to "get" ... and its cartoonish ways make it seem like the 10000001 tycoon games... which will turn off core gamers...
Thus, without amazing AI- the game will probably be a disappointment.
