I guarantee Spore will suck balls, and look forward to laughing at everyone here who parts with their cash.

Well, spore is ambitious, but it seems based on sim life, and sim earth mixed with impossible creatures, which were all pretty good concepts.

Cant believe nobody is looking forward to Jagged Alliance 3.
The Silent Storm engine was pretty awesome, and AFAIK it's been a while since the latest tunrbased tactical game.

          Other games that look interesting:
          Surpeme Ruler 2020
          Afterfall
          Stalker prequel
          Mafia 2
          Fallout 3 (even though i'm skeptical...but hey, it's Fallout)
<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running.

I loved Jagged Alliance 1, but I don't really think that the series' charm can really translate into 3D... JA2 was a disappointment.

Supreme Ruler, if it's the game that I'm thinking of with all the charts, etc... it's ambitious, but seems far too spread-sheety and abstract and confusing. (Please keep in mind, I'm a player who loves Hollywood Mogul, Baseball Mogul, Civ II, the original Transport Tycoon, Tropico, Railroad Tycoon II (esp. the stock market), and other complicated spreadsheet sim games.)

What did you like about the last iteration of Supreme Ruler?

              The new XP for SupCom.
              Dragon Age.
              Sins of the Solar Empire.
              Hmm, maybe Spore too.

I never actually played SR2010, never saw it appear in the local stores (not that i was specifically looking for it). But i generally liked what it promised about the economic and diplomatic aspects...whether they delivered or not i have no idea.

The question is, is a combination of 3 games still playable...

Way way too many games for this year again. Wii + DS + 360 + PC. thankfully I don't have a psp or ps3, not that theres much of anything coming exclusively to those systems.

DQ4 and FF4 = pure bliss for me.

PC games I'll hold off on, planning to upgrade in 2009 when the bd burners are spec'd up and priced down.

I'm looking forward to seeing if someone can finally make a good rts for a console. With Supreme Commander, Halo Wars, Universe at War, and EndWar coming out in 2008 this seems to be the year that it could happen. It will be interesting to see how they map the controls to a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse.

Control-alt-delete just had a raving review of Drake's Fortune... http://www.cad-media.com/mediaitem.php?mid=573&c=ps3 ... possibly the first good PS3 game so far, and the opening scene looks quite well done (and is apparently in-game graphics, or essentially so)...

must get, swinging looks awful fun, jumping seems a bit weird though

edit: too bad this isn't with the wii mote, I would rather have worse graphics and more interesting controls.
