Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
For what it lacks in graphics it makes up in gameplay.
Reminds me a little bit of settlers, just without the cute graphics but instead with much more gameplay elements.
Are there plans to enhance the graphics some day?

Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve." Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"
There are several graphic replacements floating around.
Fun game.
I'm onto my fourth attempt now. I now have an actual feel for how to play the game. I think I am ready to attempt magma-forging. It should be fun at least, but I might need to train up a military for that as well.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
Looks like you also don´t need the underground farming techniques that are shown in the DF Wiki if you have regions with normal soil on the map.
Just dig a chamber below such a region. The chamber floor will be underground and will have fertile soil and will stay so without having to flood it once per year

It seems to be also quite a challenge to find an underground river.
On on emap i found one and wow, it was impressive,
a river that had several waterfalls and therefore was located on 3 or 4 levels.
Impressive as wel were it inhabitants, olm-men and toad-men.
Would have been a challenge to ge trid of them.
Well, I finally quit the map because it was the digging for my stairwell that hit the map and for some reasons it wrecked pathfinding for my dwarfs.
After finding the river my miners (and also the other dwarfs) didn´t seem to be able to accomplish anything anymore.
Obviously they tried to dig, saw the monsters of the river, therefore quit their work and afterwards went back and tried it again.
Maybe declaring the stairwell as a forbidden zone and therefore forcing the dwarfs to use the alternative stairwell I had dug out might have brought the solution, but at the time when I played the map I didn´t get this idea and therefore my dwarfs still used the old stairwell with abovementioned results and I quit prematurely.

The result was:
Ebbusasdos, "Tritebad", a dwarf leather helm
And my Dwarf (who was already leatherworker before) is now a legendary leatherworker

I don't care about the graphics, it is the horrid UI which makes it unplayable for me (at least a previous versio), I Coudln't figure out how to any thing.
