I don't think anyone actually mentioned it, but MS made $165M last quarter in the Xbox division. Not bad, this time last year it was a ~$140M loss. This next quarter is the first one with the reduced cost consoles also (65nm).

The 360 is a clear improvement over the previous generation, even ignoring features like the HD-DVD ability, the XBL Marketplace, the video/music support, etc.

Unified online services, which include voice chat, friends list, achievements, XBL Arcade, downloadable content - and Microsoft continues to improve on this.
The 360 represents solid evolution in a console. Does the Wii?
The Wii graphics are six years behind the time; the control scheme doesn't provide any meaningful change, IMO, primarily because it is underpowered. Not enough hardware to push decent graphics, and not even hardware to provide decent motion sensing.
