when done well, its much more accurate than analog pad aiming, though less than mouse aiming.

    Strongly disagree.

    It's eratic and inaccurate.

Similarly, console games are basically as is. If they chug the first day, they will till the end. On a pc, at least I can upgrade parts as they become available, which may fix the issue.
You think that's a positive feature? That you need to screw around with settings and component upgrades to get a playable game?

        Oh yeah.

just google 360 frame rate issues or ps3.

I'd rather be able to fix the frame rate issues if possible, in the future, than be stuck with them on a console, yes.

            I can't say I own a 360 game with noticable framerate issues.

Which ones have you found with bad framerates? I find them way more consistent on the 360, than even on my PC with an 8800 Ultra.

I haven't chosen to play a game with bad framerates, too much goodness out there, since I joined so late, that I don't need to.

It has stopped me from getting games like Two Worlds, though, reading the reviews. Now, the game could (probably) be **** anyway, of course, even if graphics are turned down a bit.

              • Two Worlds was a bad game by most accounts.

                  Yes

It gives people to play with the settings they want. Some people wants to play with the highest framerate possible even though the game looks ugly as hell, while others wants to play the game with the best graphics at a cost of a good framerate

                  • Myself, I prefer good graphics + good framerate with no screwing around. I think most people prefer that.

                    • But not all, and for me it depends on the game
And that's what the predefined settings are for, so you don't have to screw around with the settings

Strangely, not all. Some people are framerate addicts or whatever and want a minimum FPS of 40, though I doubt any of them could visually tell the difference between 40 and 35. Other people will be happy to lower graphics settings if that's what's required for a better framerate.

                          • So? There's still no reason not to give them the option to change the settings as they want, even though only 1% wants to (and 1% is still a lot of people)
The different settings has to be made anyway, otherwise the game wont run on low end system (or the game will look ugly as hell even on high end system), so it's not like they're spending a lot of extra time to make the 1% happy

                            And I believe there's a lot more than just 1%, but I don't have a number

                            • Personally, I don't notice until the framerate drops down into the low 20s. If it's a twitch reflex FPS game I might notice when trying to react quickly if it's below 30, but that's it. As long as I can maintain 30 frames per second I'll never be able to tell you anything, and in a lot of games it can drop down to 20 without me ever noticing or caring.

However, I have talked to people who claim that they can't play if it doesn't run at least 60-100 frames per second. They've told me they can tell the difference between 45 and 75 FPS. I personally think that's BS, but that's what they've told me.
