Looks like mixed opinions so far.

By mixed opinions you mean you and some other guy vs the rest of people?

Looks like Kuci's "most" comment is correct.

Which goes on to prove my point that Goldeneye was the game that unlocked FPSes on consoles, not PD. PD came in the twilight of the N64 days.

Remember, this was the original point before you veered off in a tangent.

no it proves not many folks played, PD, which Chick admitted in his post on Qto3, IIUC.

Then he's even more stupid than I ever could have imagined, if he knew PD was more obscure than Goldeneye.

His point was PD showed shooters are viable on consoles. That's completely wrong, no matter how you look at it. Goldeneye was that game, not PD. The fact that most people haven't played PD shows you that point. It was Goldeneye that opened up the market, not PD.

Again, even if you haven't played goldeneye, if you know anything about game consoles you would know this. This is why I have my doubts about the console "cred" of that site you love so much. They seem to be clueless.

I dont think he was referring to number of sales.

The point is it doesn't matter what he was referring to.

                  Sales? Goldeneye wins.
                  Influence? Goldeneye wins...

There's simply no way the sentence makes sense. It's clear he just doesn't know **** all about game consoles.

Perhaps predictably, I've played both btw, especially GoldenEye.

I beat Golden Eye at the Walmart electronic center in highschool. Never played perfect dark.

Multiplayer Halo 1 ruled my life in college, company versus company combat

Halo 2 I didn't play much multiplayer except over the console itself.

I have never played any of them. I did watch a friend playing it during my most intensive N64 period. I never had a N64.

I can't quite say, "never heard of 'em", but close, I have no clue what these games are, or even what platform they are for.
