I've still got Halo 2 sitting on the shelf, waiting to be played. Halo 3 - Meh. I'm far more excited about Starcraft 2 or even Spore.
But, with rumours of Jet Set Radio NEXT coming to the 360, along with rumoured Treasure produced mystery title [Ikaruga 2] and Halo, it now seems likely I will get a 360. One day.Voluntary Human Extinction Movement http://www.vhemt.org/

Halo 1 and 2 were boring FPS's; I really cannot find a reason to explain why so many people enjoy Halo other than some ego problem or an unfortunate misalignment of the stars with the release date of Halo has caused a disruption in the minds of many gamers - and only a few were immune.
Oh well, sucks to be a Halo-lover.
Good thing Crysis is just around the corner to shut up the Halo-lovers enough to think life is still worth living.be free

Kindly masturbate in your own threads, and not this one.
You're the odd one out here, it's far more likely you're just anti-pop culture than a snooty critic. I also bet you don't like online games, nor do you like very social games either.
That's your loss, so take it elsewhere. Others here get great amounts of enjoyment out of the Halo games, be it from the cinematic feel of the single player campaigns to the online modes to the lack of cheating that plague PC games to the social aspect of playing the game with so many of your friends.
While Crysis may very well be a good game, it's clear that Halo 3 is a great game -- and it's out now. They're not mutually exclusive.
FWIW, I don't see what makes Crysis that exciting aside from its incredible graphics. Maybe you want to start a thread and fill me in on its epic story and gameplay innovations."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Halo is a lot of fun. I'd say it's the spiritual successor to GoldenEye. It's wildly popular, and not just with hardcore gamers. I have a lot of friends who don't pay any attention to most games (BioShock, Mass Effect, Forza, MGS, Metroid, etc) but love Halo. It's a party game, in the same way that GoldenEye was.
The same cannot be said about Crysis, or most other FPS.

I think the Goldeneye comment was spot on.
Back when I was a wee lad, it was customary to have late night Goldeneye sessions throughout the night. It was genuinely awesome, and has been replaced by the Halo series since then.
If you don't have friends, I can see why it's not any more appealing than the other nondescript PC FPS games."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
