Probably about 60-70, at a rough guess. Too many, or not enough? You decide!

We talking at the present moment or over the course of history?

      At the moment...

"I" own about 12 PC games, 6 PS2 games (4 of which are various versions of Madden I never bothered selling off), and 2 Gameboy games (Original huge brick monochrome gameboy, not GBA or DS or whatever, both games being atari collections).

I have bought the kids another 8 PC games (various learning 'games'), at least a dozen GBA games, and at least another dozen PS2 games, however.

So, 20 for 'me' (of which I play maybe 3 and should sell the others), and at least 32 for the kids.

If you want over history, at one point I had well over 100 NES games (friends would give me theirs when they sold off/trashed their NES, only really bought maybe 20) probably upwards of 50 PS1 games (most bought in bargain bins/used areas), and maybe another dozen PC games.

Me neither, but I sold more than a couple. I used to own games like Half-Life, Civ 2 and SMAC, to name a few examples. But I sold them. I guess I'm not a collector.

I own hundreds of Spectrum games, and about a hundred Amiga games. But I own surprisingly few PC games, around 25 I guess, unless you count acquired games in which case it's over a hundred easily.

Oh, and a fair few NES games (maybe 20), 4 Xbox games, and 6 Xbox 360 games.

Taken out of context, this sounds so wrong.

I couldn't play Civ 2 anymore. It just too old. OTOH, I sometimes regret selling SMAC.

Let's see the complete Civ series plus add ons already goes past ten...so... more than 10 for just Civ. My complete Sierra collection is but larger so that comes in at 100, my complete Origin collection just kidding (I do have the complete Civ series though):P

I sold off or gave away a lot of my collection in the 90's but I still have a few classics like Wasteland and Command HQ, System Shock 1&2 etc... Rough guess 40 PC games. Plus about 20 Gameboy Advance/DS games. And a few Amiga and C64 titles for nostalgia, that's about it.
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                          Nerds.

I only have about 5 games, I used to have 100's back in the days of the Atari and Amiga, but I was around 10, so I don't count as being a nerd at that time. However, I must say, it's quite impressive that I had 100's of games when I was 10, and only 5 now, either I suck at getting games, there are less games for PC's available these days or I have trained myself to identify a sucky game before I play it due to the many sucky games I have bought and played in the past.

Out of all the games I ever bought, Pitfall was my best (Atari 2600) and Black & White was my worst.

                            Very few.
Probably a dozen to two dozen.

I used to be a shameful pirate (but what can you do when your favorite games are obscurely hard to buy in NZ for a CC-less kid, and when your friends are shameless pirates and the MP games they want to play seems to be fashion of the week rather than any constant... bah).
Once I gave up on social LAN gaming I no longer had any reason to acquire new games, meaning I just buy maybe 2-3 a year. I'm very content with sticking with old games.

                              Not enough, Jam. Clearly.

I've got about 80 games in the cupboard, another 5 on my desk, and who knows how many out in the shed and/or garage. That doesn't include any console games (as technically, my wife owns them).
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                                I've got 10:

Civilization II (Plus the Conflicts in Civilization and Fantastic Worlds add-ons)
                                Civilization II: Test of Time
Commander Keen 4 (The first game I bought... Collecting dust somewhere now)
                                Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines
Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty
Golden Tee Golf (OEM, so doesn't really count)
                                GTA2
                                Heart of Darkness
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 (Won this in a magazine contest, so barely counts either)
                                Queen: The Eye

Freeware and abandonware etc. games add maybe another 10.
Civilization II: maps, guides, links, scenarios, patches and utilities (+ Civ2Tech and CivEngineer)
