The engine is 3d, but it doesn't fully exploit the 3rd dimension like Homeworld did. You won't be having space battles like Homeworld. Its not a huge deal. If it ain't broke...

As for SP, blizzard always makes a pretty decent SP campaign so no worries there really. They do a good job of appeasing SP and MP players.
And focus ALL on MP ladder games. Much more replay and tourney friendly support modes. In game voice commentary built in like cnc3!:-pComment

Not exactly sure how. but when u download a ladder or tournament matchups replays on cnc forums, they come with in game voice commentary. and the file sizes are like super small 1-2mb no matter hoe long the game is... so for all i knoe its some kind of voddo magic.
If anyone has ever played wc3 or sc, people used to zip the really infamous replays with mp3 files of commentary analyzing and breaking down the stretegy and mindgames in battles. Either that watch a youtubed Starcraft TV shows from korea (which is in korean though)
CnC3, had it not been a crappy game, had a really good system in place. commentaries were built in, and the commentator can also record commentator view mode (which kinda works like wc3's auto viewing mode but created by an actual person to force an audience to watch a significantly important event). Commentators were also able to pause the game at any time and making markings that resemble a football strategy book any time... circling, highlighting and making lines across areas to illustrate things.
Looking at Cnc3's replay system, i got so jealous and tired of decade old starcraft's way of having to watch replay... having to synchronize ur mp3 player with the game to get a voice commentary going... but now im so ecstatic that new sc2 will be coming out. Odds are blizzard will do 1000 time better job than EA will ever do since blizzard is all about good ladder experience and EA is notorious for making crappy MP games. so imagine how much more features blizzard will have on top of everything nice EA has done for cnc3.... ahhhhhhhhhhhh im sooooooo excited
