  • I can't imagine downloading a movie or a TV show to a 360. This is what Netflix, iTunes, and DVRs are for.

Limited saves aren't a big problem if you don't have a large collection of games. And to my knowledge no game to date requires a HD.

Why would you buy from iTunes but not XBLM?

Netflix is slow and doesn't offer recent episodes.

DVRs rely on your cable-co and are usually more expensive for XBLM, and usually not HD.

That's supposed to say "getting a 360 core," right? It took me about five read-throughs to make any sense of that at all...

Yeah, I was going to fast and should have either quoted wiggy or been more clear that I was referring to the 360 arcade.

Netflix: wait until the series is over + several months, then watch the episode, meanwhile guessing or reading spoilers on what happened to be caught up?

Itunes: I'd rather watch something on my tv than monitor

DVR: **** happens, forget to record, have a conflict, power goes out.

The 360 fills the gaps in all of those. I would never download a ton of tv shows or movies, since I have 2 dvrs and blockbuster online,, but it helps for when I miss things or forget

            Oblivion expansions

CoD4 is rumored to require it
GTAIV is rumored to require it
            both for dlc

            • Core isn't being phased out, though, so that article is a little wrong. There will still be an SKU without a hard drive. I have a feeling there will never be a point when more than one or two games require it.

Also, Netflix solves the movie problem. No need for 360 for expensive movies you'll only watch once. I never meant Netflix solves missing TV shows. For that, I guess 360 can be useful, but come on. If you've got a dvr that is rarely going to be a big problem. I can live with watching one or two episodes on my pc.

I'm someone who subscribes to the "Canadian netflix", zip.ca, and I love it.

But there's still times when you want to see a movie and Netflix/Zip hasn't sent it to you yet. There are a lot of movies on XBLM in high definition that aren't yet out on HD DVD or Bluray. There's a huge convenience factor here, and it's cheaper than renting at Blockbuster (and better quality).

Not to mention the TV episode thing.

                  • $550 for a 360 Premium ($350), an extra controller ($50), and Halo 3 + GoW ($60 and $50 respectively)? Yeah, fantastic deal...

Notice Halo is 60 euros alone.

                          • HALO 3 DOMINATES THE JAPANESE CHARTS!!!!!!!! SUPREME COMPLETE OWNAGE!

GamesRadar+ takes you closer to the games, movies and TV you love.

It's not impossible; Bungie's epic first-person shooter has actually gone down a storm in Japan, hitting the number one spot in the software sales charts in its first week.

With 59,000 copies sold in the past week, Halo 3 beat the likes of the mighty Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (55,000), Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (54,000), and the newly-released Tamagotchi DS game (54,000).

This will be extra good news to Microsoft considering that not only does Japan rarely give a damn about FPS games, but more significantly, poor sales of the 360 have left it in a distant third.

Fewer than 500,000 Xbox 360 consoles have been sold compared to 3.6 million Wii units and 1.2 million PS3s sold in the region.

                            yay for crappy nation!

                            • So a country is crappy if the 360 is beaten out by the PS3 and the Wii? Perhaps you should go back home and reset your priorities, learn how to be reasonable and read a few books before reporting back.

Perhaps you should read a book on logic.

Japan is crappy for many reasons. Not the least of which are school girl panty vending machines.
