By the way, gents: My new Xbox 360 arrived today. I pick it up tonight. Alas, this coincides with the start of the NHL season.

I'll pick up PGR4 tonight. Good thing this coincides with a 3 day weekend.

But now my list of Xbox 360 games to play reaches 6. And my PS3 games to play reaches 1 on Tuesday.

What's the benefit of using the new control scheme vs the classic?

I've yet to play it.

I played the PS3 demo though, and I own NHL 07...

The new control schemes are just more fun, they're more intuitive. Left stick controls the skater, right control stick the stick. It's probably the best control scheme in sports. I guess that's why the NHL series is the best rated game in sports.

Practice makes perfect, I have a hard time coordinating my left thumb to shoot properly. And I hate using the triggers for anything meaningful, too much non ms console use for me.

Gorgeous game though, can't wait to play around with the dynasty/minor league modes.

just got it yesterday, along with a few wii games for the wife, don't laugh too much-DDR and My Sims.

Please tell me what benefits a hard drive offers? Downloading demos and some media and things like that? With the card you can hold a decent amount of saves and play online, I fail to see why you did not consider this before posting.

Downloading demos, downloading expansion packs for games, downloading media (videos etc), faster loading times in games, required for some games coming soon, etc.

Microsoft recently announced it would allow MMOs to require hard drives. As for the xpacks I know shivering isles was released on xbox live only for a period of time, though I think it is coming to retail sometime in oct.

Getting a 360 would be like getting a pc with an integrated graphics card, sure you can use it to do the basic functions, but you're nowhere close to tapping the full power of the machine. No game demos, limited save space, limited download space, limited games, limited arcade games, no hd video downloads. Why would you do that to yourself.

I've had the 360 for a week, and I've already downloaded one movie and one tv show to watch (I'm waiting on directv hd to arrive here, so I don't have an hd input otherwise)

And the demos have shown me what games I definitely can avoid purchasing that I otherwise probably would-Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata.
