Yeah, I guess Nintendo will have to do something with either the price, the included game(s) or both. An interesting thing I read in the news today btw: All Wii controllers will from now on come with a silicon grip. People who already have bought a controller can take contact with Nintendo and get one sent to them for free.

The deal I quoted is a specific online special - I doubt you'll be able to get 2 games and a premium for £200 here for a few months yet.

Nintendo's definitely going to need to decrease their price. I think it's pretty clear they haven't needed to though, with all the demand that there's been.

Question is, how much would it actually hurt them to lower the price? Would they have to jump on the console-at-a-loss bandwagon in order to go to, say, $200?

why? Not now, certainly, at least in the US. Maybe in March, drop to 200, make wii sports a stand alone game for 30$. No need to drop the price when its sold out, and will be a complete sell out through December.

Doubtfully. As I've understood it, they have a good margin on their consoles.

ATM, it's not necessary. But for how long, if the 360 gets as cheap or cheaper?

I read that the Xbox 360 Arcade is on it's way btw. The new Core, still with no HDD, but with a 256 MB memory card and 5 free arcade games. It's also said to have HDMI and wireless controllers. The price is rumored to be 279.99 dollar.
