Of course, as that has opened numerous doors throughout the game.

But it didnt open. I get an audio message that says something like "emergency blast" or whatever.

I also tried a crowbar, grenades etc. I havent tried a trip mine though.

I also looked on Youtube for the video walkthrough, and I didnt see any thing done that I havent done.

"That's a well known bug in HL, assuming you've gone back to the correct area.
After launching the rocket and crossing the yard where the rocket launched from (with the stationary gun - you had to go through here to get to the launch building, it's a one entrance, one exit area) go back through the two sets of doors to get back to the previous map where you finally emerged outside after riding the rails. Look to the left, following the tram rail.
The two big, red doors should be opened. If they aren't then you did encounter the bug and there are few ways to get past it.

        - One way is to completely reinstall the game after uninstalling it and defragmenting your hard drive.
        - Another is to replay the entire "On A Rail" scenario from one of the saved games from any area before "On A Rail" began. If you have a saved game from before, that is.
        - The easiest way is to use the "noclip" cheat to go through the doors and turn it off once you're through the doors. This will not affect gameplay as there are no enemies or triggers that you'll miss by using this cheat to bypass this problem. Just don't drop yourself on the electrified rail once you're inside. "

        • Looks like Colon has egg on his face.

I'd use the noclip thing if you don't have a handy save. Having said that not sure how reliable advice can be when it also says to defragment your hard drive and reinstall the game!

          • Use noclip.

And check to see if there isnt a way to open that door-i dont recall it being open in my game and i dont recall being stuck although i take it you looked everywhere already

              • This chapter looks pretty good, despite some silly jumping puzzles.

                • Ok now ive gotten to one of the nastiest puzzles of all, the room after the grinders, where the conveyors and chopping machinery is.

You have to turn the choppers off, but they only stay off for a couple of seconds, while you have to run through a door, jump on a conveyor, and then duck so so you can pass under the choppers before they restart. I know precisely what I need to do, just my fingers dont go fast enough. Im tired of doing this over and over. I think I may just noclip it again.

                  • Sometimes the choppers don't stop in a convenient position. If they don't, wait for them to restart and mash the button again. 2nd or 3rd time usually gets it right.

Nooooooo! Noclip is for bugs only - for your gaming integrity (what is left after buying the Sims anyway) to be intact you must go back and pass that part properly.

                            • Sheesh. Makes me want to play HL again. Hmm, it's been a while since I last played it, in fact.

I will never have integrity as an FPS gamer anyway, this is as much an excursion from my real gaming interests as is "The Sims".

Anyway, Ive been more than clear that I dont like the jumping puzzles. In this case I knew the answer to the puzzle, it was just a matter of spending hours reloading and reloading and reloading till I manage to get through it, even if it takes till Civ9 is out and Jenna Bush is President.

Somehow I think even monitoring my sims bathroom habits wont be as tedious as that.
