my only hope for bethesda Fallout is that it will be moddable. We will then be able to put back in the swearing, drinking, debauchery that made the originals such a classic.

But there are limits with what can be done with mods. I hope the game will be very good out of the box. I don't expect it to be as good as Fallout 2 was in its time. Those are big shoes to fill. If it is as good as the previous games in the series, I'll be pleasantly surprised; if it isn't, I won't be disappointed.Let us be lazy in everything, except in loving and drinking, except in being lazy – Lessing

Yeah it will be interesting to see how adult they make this game. But considering what grand theft auto has, I don't see why not.
I like bad guys calling me a mother****er. . And drugs, hookers, it's all good.
that stuff could easily be modded in, I'd think. It's just items and text. The hardest thing to mod in is graphics for new areas.

I can gurantee they will use a new engine. Those graphics are out of date. Though fallout graphics have always been old. While it was always more about the graphics, they do play an important role. the artwork of fallout 1 and 2 was just top notch. I love the cartoons. And the one's in the manuals as well. Fallout boy . The game had such a certain style that made it different than everything out there. Many sword and sorcery rpg's are all pretty similar in artwork. But fallout was stood out. Granted the setting made it stand out. I love the 50's style they used.
So I do want the game to be visually appealing. I hope they get someone to do good music. Fallout never had much in the way of "songs". But the background effect and music was eerie and cool. Even if they aren't really songs. Regular music wouldn't sound right anyways. I don't remember much of Morrowind music. It was pretty forgettable. So it couldn't have been that great.

I'm torn. On the one hand, a first person version of Fallout, dropping you into a big sandbox (literally, a post-apocalyptic desert) where you could go anywhere would be incredibly appealing to me. On the other hand, would that still be Fallout? The visual style of the two games is so strong I'm not sure I could get into a different version. I guess we'll have to wait until some media releases to see what they intend.Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

What worries me is mainly the character interaction. From over 8 years ago I still remember many Fallout 1 and 2 characters. I don't remember more than about 3 or 4 Morrowind characters after playing it less than 4 years ago. Oblivion is only at about 3 also."Yay Apoc!!!!!!!" - bipolarbear
"At least there were some thoughts went into Apocalypse." - Urban Ranger
"Apocalype was a great game." - DrSpike
"In Apoc, I had one soldier who lasted through the entire game... was pretty cool. I like apoc for that reason, the soldiers are a bit more 'personal'." - General Ludd

well morrowind didn't have npc's that could join your party.
but even non party npc's of fallout 1 and 2 were kind of memorable. I'm sure everyone remembers Tandy.
Morrowind's dialogue trees were generic, so none were memorable. I would hope for at least a dozen NPC's they put more work into the dialogue.

I'm really beginning to get irked by these companies and their "countdowns to whatever." Just show me the #$(^* trailer already and stop screwing around!
