I doubt Wii will come in a v2, but one never knows I guess.

You must be doing something wrong. The image on my TV looks MUCH better.

No, I don't have money to waste on something that is practially nonexistant here.

It's definitely not the TV, because it looks fantastic.

That display runs at 1920x1080.
The Wii sends out 640x480.
HDTV amplifies the problems of SDTV signals, like what the Wii sends. Which is why I've been saying as HDTV penetration increases, the Wii will hurt even more. The Wii is at a huge disadvantage.
Many of the Wii games aren't even widescreen, which is even worse...

Must be the cables then perhaps? When I have had friends on visit, trying my Wii, I actually have got several of them commenting on how good the games look. They had read how bad graphics the Wii was supposed to have and then found out it didn't look that bad after all.

That, I agree is a disadventage.

It's not the cables...if you want to see how the Wii looks WITHOUT the overpriced Nintendo component cables I bought, just ask. It's WAY worse.
The fact is, the Wii has no anti-aliasing...no texture filtering...horrible geometry performance. SDTVs can hide most of these flaws, but HDTVs reveal them.
And it's not the cables. My SO's Wii looked identical, it's a problem with the Wii on HDTVs.

No need to get mad, I'm no tech guy.

I'll probably get a Wii at some point when there are more good games. It's not too pricey and there are a couple of GC games I'd happily pick up as well.
I have a HDTV though so would be good to know whether this is a problem.
Perhaps the problem is that you're expecting too much out of a Wii in terms of screen resolution? After all they're not TRYING to go after nice HDTV shots, they're going for simple games that don't require US$5b to produce... and no matter whether they produced a console with higher graphical specs than a X360 at half the price, they'd still have the "Nintendo" name limiting their users to those who don't care as much about graphical prettiness. IE the young, and the adults.

I like your SNOOPY POSTER! - While you Wait quote.
You don't need to make games cost a fortune to make them look better.
Texture filtering and antialiasing can be done with zero developer input. Nintendo chose to omit the features to save a few bucks, and for the price they charge, it should definitely be there...they make a huge difference at low resolutions.
One thing you can't see in the still pics is the annoying shimmering effects of the characters too, which is actually most grating.
