Stephen Sondheim listened to the discussion.

Noel Jessop just felt Mark Kelmanson was the culprit. In response Mark Kelmanson tried to be above simple retaliation and chose Manny Nosowsky. Unfortunately people noticed that Manny Nosowsky was spending a lot of time in the toilet area and was not capable of anything, so reckoned Mark had voted inappropriately.

Mark was taken aback.

'Mark' could I have a word'. 'Oh Sh*t*’ said Mark (5).

'You know what we all agreed, ' said Stephen ' I'd like you to share your defending skills and knowledge of the banned,’ as he led Mark towards the Big Freezer.

'Look, I'll leave you ' said Stephen 'Anything to say before I go'.

'Yes, ‘ said Mark ' I don’t give a Monkey’s’

With that the freezer door slammed shut.

‘Alright everybody’ said Stephen. ‘Let’s try and put the tragic events of the past days behind us and get on with the championship. Surely we’ve got the killer at last. Luckily there was a satellite glitch before we were to broadcast, so the general public didn’t get to know about our little local calamity‘. Ok I’ll need a holiday after this but in the meantime get the drinks organized before we go on air and can I have a whiskey’.

Noel’s face and body were getting greener and his eyes were narrowing.

‘Fred, yours,’ said Stephen ‘7 down: would you desire all in the pirate’s cove treasure chest? (5). ‘No I wouldn’t ‘Covet’ it all’ answered Fred with emphasis. ‘Correct’ said Stephen.

Noel was becoming squatter and greener and his eyes, narrower and narrower. All he could see was ‘irate’.

Right Manny, 9 down: ‘Who wrote Jealous Guy? (6)’ ‘No Noel, not your turn. Manny? But Manny couldn’t answer because of a frog in his throat.and communicated indirectly. ‘What’s that Manny? You’re in a band. What ? Oh I see you’re banned. Hmmm. What are we going to do with you?

Noel Jessop became enveloped in a green cloud and before you could say ‘Wizard of Oz’ disappeared in a whisp of green smoke.

‘Great Scott’ said Merle Reagle. ‘At least I don’t have to sweep somebody up this time’ said Jon. ‘Nor will we need a paddywagon’.

‘By the look of him he has been poisoned. The poison seems to have effected his mind and metabolism’ said Will. ‘Yes’, said Merle ‘ We all noticed as the clues were answered that he turned green and greener into a green eyed monster and then that cloud and whoosh.

‘Well obviously you have been wrong in your choices so far’ Stephen said. ‘Yet, it could only have been one of you’. ‘We really need to sort this out ourselves, before too long. Nobody leave the convention. Look, you are all bright people and you are surrounded by clues. Choose someone’.
