I never had any problem with inventory management in KotoR.

You had different tabs you could use. I used the equipment screen when going through my weapons.

The hardest part was finding the holodiscs. But I knew right were to find it in that long list. After a while I just got used to it. This is pc version btw. Where I could easily use the mouse to scroll down that long list of junk. I did try to sell off all my worthless junk at any available opportunity.
