  • Are any of the Star Trek/Wars games good?

Star Trek: Legacy has received a 7.2 on Gamespot.
It seems that most Star Trek/Starwars games are bad.

Tie Fighter was an awesome game. X-Wing/X-Wing v. Tie Fighter/X-Wing Alliance were less awesome, but still pretty good for the most part. KOTOR was fun, too. Beyond those the Star Wars games get progressively worse for my money.

Starfleet Command 2 was probably the only decent Star Trek game ever made. Nothing else comes close.

Birth of the Federation is kind of nice, although it has some issues (I forget what exactly, to be honest) that stop it from being great.

Starfleet commander has some fun tactical space combat, too. (the strategy side of the game sucks poop though)

KOTOR was a great game. I loved Tie Fighter way back when, and I really like the first two Jedi Knight games (Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast). Aside from that, I've been underwhelmed by the Star Wars games I have played, and I've never played any Star Trek computer games so I can't say anything about them.

The StarFleet Command series are one of the few Star Trek games I know of. Well there is Elite Force.

I liked the Star Trek Armada game.

                Star Wars best games list:

                1. TieFighter/X-wing

                - its a draw for me, even though TieFighter was the later game with slightly updated graphics+features, i just get a huge kick out of flying an X-wing against the bad guys.

                2. Dark Forces/Jedi Knight(+mysteries of sith expansion)

                - Jedi Knight was also known as Dark Forces II, both great fps variations on the starwars world.

                3. Kotor

                - great polish, best of the modern starwars games, and the best starwars rpg to date. Kotor 2 was ok, but not as polished as the first game.

                4. Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast

                - a later and pretty decent rendition on the fps game.

So that gives you 3 good fps games, 2 great flight sims, and 1( possibly 2) good rpgs.

A personal outside vote i would give to StarWars Rebellion(Supremacy in uk+europe). But only because i'm quite a hardcore starwars fan, and its the only strat game in the starwars franchise i liked. Well 'liked' might be too strong - but it had and still has a certain charm for me. Most people hated it for its horrible interface(and they would be right!).

The only good star trek game was written for QBasic and was quite entertaining, although rather text based and such. As in no graphics of any kind

Star wars, Tass you'll like KOTOR definitely. All of the XWing and derivatives were great, Tie Fighter being the greatest, both for perfecting the control schema pretty much, and for having by FAR the best plot of them all. The way they managed to make you not feel like an evil villain, but also feel like you're part of the Empire and doing your job (not making you a rebel spy or some crappy copout like that) was incredible.

You forgot Rogue Squadron for the N64.

And Lego Star Wars is actually quite good.

I didn't really like Rouge Squadron as compared to the X-Wing games.

And yes - Lego Star Wars slipped my mind. Both are excellent.

They're different games. X-Wing is a simulator, Rogue Squadron is just a not-quite arcady fighter game. I loved both.
