I'm toying with making myself a christmas gift by buying this. What say you lot, worth it? I liked RTW, but never paid STW and the first MTW.

Well... I like NWN2 so don't listen to me.

@mac - that's really weird. I would contact amazon and see what's up.

As much as I love Amazon their automated customer support (in the UK at least) drives me up the wall faster than almost any other.

@mactbone - thats odd, you've probably checked eveywhere else for that code, like printed on the manual cover somewhere(i had that one time - it looked like a computer bar code on the inside cover?).

If you get no joy from amazon - try sega directly, or get someones attention in the forums for the game?

That sucks not getting that code - makes you want to look for a crack when stuff like that happens

@ Sir Ralph - well this carry's on what Rome achieved in the series, and most people are saying its the best TW game to date.

I dont think we have much choice in the real strategy genre these days and plan to pick it up after xmas(it's going to be my new years gift!).

So, I won an auction on eBay, MTW2 for just 31 Euro.

Hope I´ll get it before Christmas.

How much free space do you need on your HDD to install it?

Roughly 7 gigs of free space. With patch 1.1 you can use the unpacker to open up all those packed files to allow for easy modding, but that takes ANOTHER 7 gigs! Better have a clean drive.

OMG!!! didn't you notice that the installer recommends that you terminate all programs during installation!!!

Am I the only one who actually does that?

Ceased listening about 10 years ago, and nothing bad has ever happened.

Wow, nearly 10% of my total HDD space.

Sounds like I have to make some space free on one of my partitions.

Hope they haven´t a minimum space requirement for partition C:

(the MTW addon Viking invasion did some mess in this regard, even if you wanted to install the adddon at another partition, it demanded that the free space it needed for installation had to be on partition C: [which, as 1.2 GB were required forced me to abandon trying to install MTW: VI on my main PC )

Or a 360 GB HHD like me (actually I have an external harddisk of 160 GB as well )

I just checked my drive; with the patch installed but without the files unpacked, my M2TW folder is 7.77 gigs in size, according to the tooltip in Windows Explorer. I have seen bigger (I think the most recent Splinter Cell was a 10 gig install) but not many.

for the record i think gaming 'bloat' is vile and nasty. A huge install size(which to me this sounds like inc patches etc) does actualy put me off some games.

not this one yet, though it might not stay on my hard drive longer than it takes to finish it, which is a shame as i like to have a good selection of games on the go at one time - its one reason that makes me like pre-2000 gaming so much
