And yeah - to some extent every TW is going to be more of the same. I think some people were expecting a step up like there was from MTW to RTW (which involved a whole new engine). The game is not revolutionary, but it is definitely evolutionary. People expecting the former are not appreciating the latter.

I wonder if in the transition from the old TW games to RomeTW(in particular) - Creative Assembly picked up a very large portion of "3D or nothing" gamers?

And maybe the expectations are that they want as much of a graphical evolution as happend from the first Medieval to Rome? I suppose these games could start to suffer in the same way TES has with Oblivion?

Personaly it was always the tbs stratmap part of these games, and the management and period atmosphere that i liked best. The 3D battles(even when they were sprite based) were ok - but hardly tactical at all, it usualy boils down to having more troops than the enemy, or just being smarter than the AI. But i know many of the "fans" loved this series for that part of the game.

That's good to know, since I essentially missed the last one out.

11 GB? I don't have that much space left, or a DVD drive.

whats the stress on the system like? I read the req.'s, but I hardly trust those anymore.

Think an AMD 2200+, 128 MB geforce 6200, 768 RAM will do the trick? Or is another "gotta turn down everything and play it like pong" game?

              Can you run it?

I use this to tell me I can't run the newer games.

thanks, i ran it and i'm about 1/4 of the way over minimum...

I used this site for NWN2 and i was about the same place, maybe a little less than 1/4 over minimum and that game runs pretty badly, so I guess I will pass until I upgrade my computer.

Wow, looks like it could even work on my Laptop (even though I only have 64 MB instead of the required 128 MB Graphics Mem, but all of the other Requirements are met)

If it is really some kind of Mix between RTW and MTW it will be great (perhaps I´ll buy it, too before the year ends)

I take it this is - once again - a very time consuming game?

so little time, so much to do...

MedievalTW took me about a month of fairly solid gaming to win the campaign, i could have speeded that up if i had used the auto-resolve on most of the battles. But i'm mean and dont like to waste my investments(in soldiers).

So i'm hoping for atleast the same amount of playtime. Its got a 'save-game' feature if your worried about that

I just dont get this issue of 'i dont have time to play a long involved game'? Save!

looking forward to this for xmas, loved STW and MTW, missed RTW so this is going to be a nice jump up for me

how do they resolve large battles (with more than say 16 units of troops) i seem to remember something odd about units being off map and coming on as reinforcements previously

Yeah the weakest part of STW was how they handled this. Though I did hear there were some changes in RTW.

I just bought it, but it will probably take a few more days before I install it and try it.
