    • No on both counts, and with Dr.Spike's attempt i move on to the 2nd riddle.

North and south met in clash
and civilization ended in a flash
and all this because both thought they could win
with what people now describe as a holy thing
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

With these clues anything is a long shot.

                • After my previous attempt I feel the need for a good challenge. Try Riddle no.3...

To top it all off, the trouble came double
Because an alien invasion then laid claim on the rubble
Civilization is gone and mankind enslaved
Is there anyway the tribes can be saved?

                    • Not really, remember we're talking mid 80's... not the late 90's or early 00's.

                          • Sounds like the setting the series "The Tripods" is based on.

And as AFAIK in the 80s a game for "The Tripods" was published,
I guess it is "The Tripods"
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
Tamsin (Lost Girl): "He has fallen in battle and I must take him to the Einherjar in Valhalla"

                            • No on lost Vikings, and another no on the Tripods but I do remember reading the books back then. Your guess wasn't it Proteus but thanks for bringing back some memories!

                              • If it would be mid-90s instead of mid-80s, Abuse would be the obvious pick.

80s game where evil-weevil space aliens have enslaved humanity... Manhunter?
