And damn you, LOTM - you've given me the urge to start another game. This time I'm seriously roleplaying an evil party, even when it means refusing potentially rewarding quests or reducing options by taking greedy dialogue choices.

I'm playing a party of 4 and intend it to stay that way:
Me - Neutral Evil Kensai/Mage, and Korgan, Viconia, Jan.

I've been thinking of starting a new game as well.

And it's really tempting to play a game roleplaying an evil part. Before when I did an evil party I did all the "good" quests just to get experience. But I think I'll go for more roleplay this time around.

part of my role play will be to defeat all the cowled wizards for using magic in the streets. I read in the faq that you can do this. though I hear they are tough battles. But I'm up for the challenge. No one dares challenge my magic using authority.

All right, ive had enough side quests - im currently doing the graveyard, and having done the small quests (the teddy bear, and finding the orphan for the Paladin) im looking for some scroll for edwin.

I turned down bodhi, which im guessing has something to do with the vampires in the bridge district.

Soon Ill wrap this stuff up and go back to Gaelan.

the vampires could appear anywhere at night iirc. Not necessarily the bridge district. You just see a random fight, and then bodhi asks you to join your side.

Slightly spoilerish, but since you already said you turned down bodhi, no harm. Bodhi represents an alternative way to move onto act/chapter 3. The other way is to go with Gaelin.

There are many quests outside the city as well. You can do them in chapter 6 as well. But it will be a while.

Chapters 4 and 5 can be very short, if you take the evil path and choose to kill an important NPC.

Ive gone into the sewers below the Temple district. They dont seem all that hard, but theres one group of named baddies in the north side of the circle, who im having great difficulties with. Even casting fire protection on all my party and then casting fireballs isnt working.

Send in a single character buffed up with all possible protections. Not necessarily all. Chaotic commands + stoneskin + a spell protection (spell turning, spell trap, etc) should do the trick.
This character will be the decoy. Since the decoy is the first target to be spotted by the baddies, it's the center of all spells. While your decoy is taking the punishment, have your spellcasters cast area of effect spells that are wide enough to hit the bad guys from a position further than their range.

yeah that battle can be a little tough. Feel free to burn through all your important spells.

Often I don't like to "waste" spells. As I don't like to spend a lot ot time resting. So I'll conserve them. But with battles like these, feel free to use your best protection and area effect spells.

Perhaps try casting a web and fireball. Have them approach your party vs. advancing towards them. Cloudkill might be useful as well.
