Of course they didn't mention if the code was finished at that time... my guess is that this was their idea how it would work when finished. I don't believe they'll start working on this part for another 6 months

It's been pushed again? The last release date I heard was April-May 2007 IIRC

But we really need to show patience - i'd hate to see spore become an Oblivion for example(by that i mean MS would have been putting huge pressure on Bethesda to ship as it was already late and MS needed a huge 360 title).

Spore might be one of the last great big time produced interesting PC games we get?(ie not an FPS).

Oh, I won't be connecting Spore to the net. Sorry, but I don't want your lame arse creations invading my consciousness. I don't really like modifications. I like stock standard. I'm the kind of person who has the default wallpaper setting. My preferred interior decorating style is minimalism.

Agreed, I prefer to have a finished game when released, instead of some bug-filled product

On the other hand I wouldn't mind beta-testing it

Downloading everyone's crap creatures seems like it'd use up a lot of bandwidth. I'd hope there'd be some sort of filtering option.

Not to mention it seems like it would use a great deal of h/d space.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

You guys knows that each creature only takes up a few KBs, right?
Downloading a few hundred creatures would take no time nor space
